Blessed is the man
Why do the nations rage?
Lord, how increased are they
Hear me when I call
Give ear to my words
O Lord, do not rebuke me
O Lord, my God, in You I put my trust
O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name
I will praise You, O Lord
In the name of the Lord I put my trust
Save me, O God, for there is not a godly man left
How long, O Lord?
The fool says in His heart
Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Preserve me, O God
Hear a just cause, O Lord
I will love You, O Lord
The heavens declare the glory of God
May the Lord hearken to you
O Lord, the king will rejoice in Your strength
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?
The Lord is my shepherd
The earth is the Lords
To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul
Vindicate me, O God
The Lord is my light and salvation
To You, O Lord, I cry
Bring to the Lord, you sons of God
I will extol You, O Lord
In You, O Lord, I put my trust
Blessed are those whose sins are forgiven
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous
I will bless the Lord at all times
Judge those who harm me, O Lord
Planning sin, the lawless man
Envy not the wicked
Lord, rebuke me not in Your wrath
I will guard my ways
With patience have I waited for the Lord
Blessed is he who considers the poor
As the deer longs for the water brooks
Judge me, O God, and know my cause
We have heard with our ears, O God
My heart gave forth a noble theme
Strength and refuge is our God
All you nations, clap your hands
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised
Hear these things, all you nations
The God of gods has spoken
Have mercy on me, O God
Why boast you of your lawlessness
The fool says in his heart
Save me in Your Name, O God
Hear my prayer, O God
Have mercy on me, O God
Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me
If you speak of justice
Save me from my enemies
O God, You have rejected us
Hear my petition, O God
Shall not my soul be subject to God?
O God, my God, I rise to You at the break of day
O God, attend to my prayer when I cry
To You a hymn is due, O God, in Zion
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth
O God, have mercy on us and bless us
Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered
Save me, O God
O God, come to my assistance
In You, O Lord, I put my trust
Give, O God, Your judgment for the king
How good God is to Israel
Why do You utterly abandon us, O God?
We will confess You, O God
God is known in Judah
With my voice I cried to the Lord
Listen, my people, to my law
O God, the nations have invaded Your inheritance
O shepherd of Israel, pay heed
Rejoice in God our helper
God stands in the assembly of the gods
Who is like unto You, O God?
How beloved Your tabernacles, O Lord of hosts
Kindly have You been to Your land, O Lord
O Lord, incline Your ear
His foundations are in the holy mountains
O Lord, God of my salvation
The mercies of the Lord will I sing forever
Lord, You have been our refuge
He who dwells in the help of the Highest
It is good to acclaim the Lord
The Lord is King; He is clothed with splendor
A God of vengeance is the Lord
Oh come, let us exult in the Lord
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth
The Lord is King, let the earth be glad
Sing to the Lord a new song, for the Lord has done wondrous things
The Lord is King, let the peoples rage
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth!
Mercy and judgment will I chant to You, O Lord
O Lord, hear my prayer
Bless the Lord, O my soul
Bless the Lord, O my soul
Confess to the Lord, and call upon His name
Confess to the Lord, for He is good
Confess to the Lord, for He is good
My heart is prepared, O God
Be not silent to my praise, O God
The Lord said to my Lord
I will confess You, O Lord, with all my heart
Blessed is the man that fears the Lord
Praise the Lord, you servants
When Israel went forth from Egypt
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us
I have loved
I have believed
Praise the Lord, all you nations
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
Blessed are the blameless in the path
To the Lord I called in my distress
I have raised mine eyes to the mountains
I was elated when they said to me
To You have I lifted up my eyes
Had the Lord not been among us
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion
When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion
Unless the Lord should build the house
Blessed are all who fear the Lord
Many times have they warred against me from my youth
Out of the depths have I cried to You, O Lord
O Lord, my heart is not arrogant
O Lord, remember David
Behold how good and delightful a thing
Behold, now, bless the Lord
Praise the Name of the Lord
Confess to the Lord, for He is good
By the rivers of Babylon
I will confess to You, O Lord, with all my heart
Lord, You have searched me and known me
Save me from the evil man, O Lord
O Lord, I have cried unto You
With my voice have I cried to the Lord
O Lord, hear my prayer
Blessed be the Lord my God
I will extol You, O my God and King
Praise the Lord, O my soul
Praise the Lord, for a psalm is good
Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem
Praise the Lord from the heavens
Sing to the Lord a new song
Praise the Lord in His holy place
Small I was among my brothers

Introduction
This new edition of Christ in the Psalms is nearly identical with the original, published a dozen years ago. Indeed, these next few introductory pages are the chief addition to the book, though there are changessometimes substantialin my comments on Psalms 73, 75, 90, 94, and 106 (Hebrew Psalter 74, 76, 91, 95, and 107). I had hoped to make further improvements in the work, but the press of other concerns has so far rendered that task impossible.
Let me, then, begin by explaining what this book is about.
The Churchs full format of prayer includes, among many other components, the weekly recitation of the entire Book of Psalms. Indeed, among is scarcely an adequate preposition in this case because of the very special place psalmody holds in the Christian life of prayer. From the very beginning of her history, when the Church of God turns to Him in love and devotion, the words of the Psalter form the expressions that spontaneously, as by an impulse of her nature, rise from her heart and take shape in her mouth. The psalms find their truest context in the heart and on the lips of the Church. Those whose lips constantly move with the syllables of the Psalter give living expression to the deepest being of the Church.
