There are many people I would like to thank for helping me on this project. First and foremost is my wife. Thanks, Liz, for all your help, support, and cajoling to make this project a reality.
Next I'd like to thank all the authors who contributed to this book. Your friendship and expertise helped make this the best book I have ever worked on. Thanks also to my colleagues and students at ZDU (Ziff-Davis University) who have worked tirelessly to bring Paint Shop Pro to the masses and run the best set of classes on the Internet.
The production of this book was a huge project. Thanks to Cathie Tibbetts, Dave Abney, and the rest of the crew at DOV Graphics for designing the interior and cover of this book. Thanks also to Pat Latham for patiently educating me on how printers print books and for being a great individual with whom to work. Ruth Younger was marvelous in crossing my I's and dotting my t's.
Finally, I'd like to thank the individuals at Jasc Software. Chris Anderson has helped me on this project from the very beginning. A special thanks to Eric Pogue and Todd Matzke, my technical eyes and ears. Jon Ort and Joe Fromm always answered incessant technical questions as well. They kept me close to Jasc's inner workings while making sure I accurately described all the new features in PSP 5.

Lori Davis
(Chapters 7 and 11)
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Way/3306/
An artsy sort nearly all her life, and a Net fanatic since the early 1980s, Lori Davis found that Web graphics provided a wonderful melding of two of her longtime interests. She started out with Paint Shop Pro, and even though she's since used many other graphics programs as well, Lori still finds PSP the ideal tool for creating Web graphics. You can see this at her PSP tutorial Web site, Lori's Web Graphics.

Thanks to my husband, Larry, for his good-natured tolerance of my long hours at the computer and for his helpful and amusing comments on the example projects I developed for this book. I'd also like to acknowledge two people who were very important early in my life in encouraging me to let my artistic urges run wild: my kindergarten teacher, Miss Feldman, and my high school art teacher, Sr. Jeanne LaFreniere. My thanks to them for putting up withand even smiling onmy rambunctiousness.
