American health care resembles a construction zone with warning cones and danger tape all around it.

Within hours of being sworn in as the countrys 45th president, United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order to start dismantling parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), former President Barack Obamas signature legislation.

Trump and Republican leaders in Congress vowed to repeal and replace the law, but it turns out that was easier said than done.

By September of 2017, after three prominent members of his own party refused to support the Graham-Cassidy bill to repeal Obamacare, the government announced that the Senate would not vote on the bill. They simply didnt have the votes to get it through.

While health care debates are worthwhile exercises overall, what was troublesome about this entire period of health history was that the single most important issue in our current health care system was not properly addressed.
