Your Divination Station Becoming conscious of the possibilities is the first step in The Magic Oracle Book . Daily spiritual practices and seasonal rituals create a life filled with blessings. One ancient ritual I discovered early on was bibliomancy, a form of divination developed when books were precious objects made of papyrus, vellum, or even rolled up leaves. Even when I was girl, I used to love to open books at random and get my message for the day. I had no idea about this, but it turns out I was in accordance with a marvelous and quite ancient form of divination, that of bibliomancy.
It is one of the simplest rituals you can do to connect with the divine in an instant and easy way. Bibliomancy is a simple ritual that I have incorporated into my daily life for inspiration from the heavens. Simply open this book at random and let a word or phrase come to your attention. You thus become inspired in the true meaning of the word, which is simply to breathe in the power of the gods and goddesses. In this simple, direct, and powerful way, you will connect with the divine every time you dip into this orac ular tome. I have my own copy of this very book on my altar.
Whenever I need it (and sometimes that is several times a day!), I will pick it up, take a deep breath, and speak my question aloud. Then, eyes closed for a moment, I pick a place on a page. You will be amazed at how helpful this practice is and how grounded you will feel afterward. Let this book become a touchstone for you and a light in dark times. Sometimes, all we need are the right words at the right time, and my hope for you is that The Magic Oracle Book will bring a spark of magic into your life every s ingle day. May you be blessed on you r journey, Cerridwen How to Use
the Magic Oracle The Magic Oracle is designed to be spontaneous and filled with poetry, just like life itself.
While there are no hard and fast rules to consulting this book, we offer these guidelines to loosely follow. Are you a haiku person, or do you prefer free verse? Your own preference will guide you to the manner in which you use The Mag ic Oracle. Set the book upon a flat surface; if no surface is available, you may hold the book in your o pen palms. For questions of a more serious nature, candle light is recommended, and it is even more divine if this is the only light in the room. Fire light is also nice. The Magic Oracle is very personal.
You decide what you will see k from it. Close your eyes and concentrate on the question or quandary at hand. When you have taken the time to really focus on what you need to know, keeping your eyes closed, begin to flip the pages. Stop when you feel you have reached a place that will answer your imploring thoughts, and use your index finger to point to a place on the page. Open your eyes and read the passage nearest your finger. This is the gift that The Magic Oracle o ffers you.
To remain truly inspired, you may want to use that verse to start a free-write of your own. Or perhaps if you are in a group, the stanzas all fit together somehow? The Magic Oracle strives to pay tribute to the thousands of poignant stanzas that have changed our thinking. We invite you to j oin along.
