In this book, we tell you the story behind the evolution of the Bluetooth LE Audio technology.

In the first three chapters, we will review audio in general, Bluetooth in general, and the high-level architecture of LE Audio. The concepts which we will share with you in the first three chapters may sound familiar in some parts and may sound new in other parts. The purpose of the first three chapters is to focus on the motivation for LE Audio and what experience LE Audio is creating for users. This is the promise of LE Audio, which we hope to deliver to you.

The following four chapters will go into more depth of the LE Audio concepts. You will learn more details about the various specifications of LE Audio and how these specifications apply to the LE Audio architecture. We will review the protocols each of the specifications follows in order to deliver the LE Audio promise for new use cases.

In the last chapter, we will take you back to the basics. We will illustrate to you use case examples from an application point of view and how the LE Audio orchestra of specifications is playing together to deliver a new type of interoperable user experience.

We hope you will find this book useful, and we thank you for taking the time to read it. It summarizes the efforts of over 5 years of specification development done by multiple Bluetooth SIG Working Groups, with over 50 individual contributing members from over 25 different member companies.
