This book is dedicated to all who are affected by the autism epidemic, to all those that seek answers, and are not afraid to ask the difficult questions. Hopefully, together we can find answers to the origins of this epidemic, and make no mistake about it, it is an epidemic. Also, the potential exists to find solutions to the many problems associated with this condition. Let us not lose hope for our future progeny, for together, we can overcome...
I would like to thank my wife and children for inspiring me to write this book. Our struggles with the day to day rigors of autism have given me a unique perspective on the subject at hand. Two of our children are on the autism spectrum, so this subject matter is very personal to me. As I have firsthand experience in dealing with the ins and outs of this epidemic, I come from a very informed position in this matter. Many years of painstaking research has gone in to the volume before you. I sincerely hope that someone benefits from the information presented in this work...

Introduction
In November of 2008, I began an unexpected journey into the world of autism. Our son was three months old, and had just been to the doctor for a routine checkup. He was a very happy, healthy baby, right on schedule with all of his developmental goals.
Like most parents, we listened to the doctor's advice, and allowed the clinicians to administer the recommended vaccinations for this visit. So, our perfectly healthy baby boy got his DTAP shot on that day, just as the vaccine schedule recommends. They told us he may run a fever and be a little fussy, that was perfectly normal.
Little did we know that he would have a severe reaction to that shot. Later that evening, our normally active, energetic baby was unusually lethargic. It was past his regular feeding time, so my wife tried to wake him up to eat. He was breathing very shallowly, and was unresponsive. He also had a grayish color tinge to his skin. We immediately ran him to the emergency room as quickly as we possibly could. We sat and watched helplessly in horror as our little angel that we had prayed diligently for for the past ten years lie dying in front of our eyes, as the staff in the emergency department seemed unconcerned for his well-being.
They seemed to think that we were just nervous first-time parents, who didn't know what we were talking about. This was, in fact, our second child, so that was not the case.
As we sat there in the waiting room for him to be seen, he made a very quick, remarkable recovery. By the time the doctor had seen him, he was awake, drinking his bottle, and looking much better.
The doctor examined him, found nothing wrong, and sent us on our way, with no plausible explanation for what had happened. Once again, I feel that the hospital staff dismissed the whole incident as nothing more than nervous, inexperienced first-time parents not knowing how to care for an infant.
Some days later, my wife was talking to a friend of ours who is a nurse. What had happened came up in conversation, and she told my wife that his reaction to the shot was a sign of autism, and she had seen it happen many times before. I didn't believe it at first, like most other people, I thought vaccines were harmless, and the only people who espoused the belief that they were harmful in some way were some Hollywood big shots that thought they knew more than the doctors. Hearing this from a nurse was a little unsettling. Our son seemed fine at the time, so we didn't put much stock into her observation.
A few weeks later, we started to notice something had changed. He started to drool excessively, and he didn't make eye contact with us anymore. He was also very colicky now, and he wasn't previously.
When we finally found out years later that our son had autism, we were devastated. We didn't know what to expect, or how to help him. He started exhibiting signs and symptoms at a very early age, and we were hard-pressed to find any doctors or medical professionals who were willing to help us. They kept telling us that he was too young to diagnose, come back when he starts school.
Unhappy with the lack of answers we were getting, I began doing deep research to find out what causes autism in an attempt to help our son have the most "normal" life possible. All we got from the medical community was the run around. No one had answers, no one was able to help us. We felt so alone and isolated. One of the comorbidities he suffers with his ASD is extreme ADHD, and this was the first and most difficult symptom for us to deal with at the time. We were exhausted. He was also quite the escape artist, so we had to constantly be vigilant. I began reading medical papers and case studies. I soon realized that there was something to the vaccine connection as well.
