Introduction

E arth Prime is the first of two planned collections of Earth Girl aftermath stories and scenes. These pieces are set immediately after the Earth Girl trilogy, and the reader is assumed to have some familiarity with the characters and past events.

Earth Girl , Earth Star , and Earth Flight were written entirely from the viewpoint of Jarra, who inevitably wasnt aware of all the private thoughts and secrets of other characters. I wrote a prequel story collection, Earth 2788 The Earth Girl Short Stories , to give some of the other characters a voice and show more about their backgrounds, hopes, and dreams before the start of the trilogy. The Earth Girl aftermath collections revisit most of those characters, as well as giving a voice to other characters both old and new, as they look forward to future adventures in Zeta sector.

Earth Prime centres on the archaeologists, and includes the revised collated version of a story from Jarras viewpoint that originally appeared as a first draft serial on my website during the first half of 2020. The End, and the New Beginning was originally intended to have only about four or five parts at most, but I extended the serial to what eventually became nineteen parts for two reasons. Firstly, because I wanted to support readers impacted by Covid-19. Secondly, because Jarra refused to stop talking.

The revisions to The End, and the New Beginning include remodelling it to be twenty-five chapters of rather more even length. The Earth Prime collection also includes novelettes from Fian, Lecturer Playdon, Amalie, and Ronos deputy team leader Jerez, as well as short stories from Krath and Dalmora.

In fact, Lecturer Playdon has two stories in this collection, because Ive included his earlier viewpoint story, Year End 2788 , for completeness. This story is set eleven months earlier than all the other stories, but covers some highly relevant related events. Ive put Year End 2788 at the end of the collection because of the oddity of the different time setting. This story is also a revised version of one that previously appeared on my website.

The second collection will focus on Jarras family and the Military. If some of your favourite characters are missing from Earth Prime , then youll probably find them in the second collection.
