About This Book
This is not a book about sex.
I mean, it wont teach you how to have sex. Its not like... an instruction manual.
Instead, this is a book that introduces you to your body. Especially those parts that we dont frequently talk about. Yknow, the stuff hidden inside your pants. And then, what you decide to do with those partswhether you smash them up against someone elses parts, or you keep them nicely hidden away inside your pants... well, thats entirely up to you. But we reaaaally need to talk about those parts. We need to talk about your genitals, your so-called private parts, because without them, we wouldnt be here. Im not joking, after all, you were born only after your parents smashed their own genitals together (ick, I know, but it is a fact of life!).
You can think of this book like that extrovert friend who introduces you to all their other friends, and then you have friends of your own. Its your party book that makes you cooler than all your friends. (Okay seriously, just mug up some cool facts from here and try them at your next party. Youre gonna be such a hit!) This book will reach inside your pants, bring out your genitals (I mean, not literally) and introduce you to them, in the hopes that you become good friends. Because even though we collectively decided at some point that our body parts will be haww and not aww, I would like to help you change that. Cuz your genitals are really aww (Im not called Cuterus for nothing).
Other than ensuring the continued existence of humanity, our genitals do a lot for us. Like, a fuck ton (no pun intended). Theyre involved in peeing, perioding, and pleasure (solo, or with a partner). The last point is especially important because Trivia Time! human beings are among some of the only animals in the world that have sex for pleasure. Dolphins (who, contrary to popular opinion, are actually not that cute, and like to rape other animals for fun) and bonobos (who are actually pretty cute but super horny) are the only other animals who have sex for pleasure. Anyway, all these functions I just mentioned are pretty important. So, why dont we talk about them? Why are genitals hidden in the dark corners (I mean, its important to keep them wrapped up for legal reasons) when theyre actually so cool? Well delve into some of that and also talk about the stuff on the inside. We will talk about your internal organs, how they are linked with your outside stuff, and the cool things they do, and the things that can go wrong. Lets put on our nerd glasses and get super sciency, because well be discussing your genitourinary system!
But wait, there is more.
We will also talk about all things sexsafety, precautions, pregnancy, how to get pregnant, how not to get pregnant, infections, consentphew, thats a lot.
There is still more.
Basically, there is a whole lot youre going to learn about your body, science, history, politics, and marketing. This is the kind of book you should display on the coffee table at home to show off to people that youre so cool. And yes, I am appreciating my own book, but as youll find out, it is bloody awesome (JUST LIKE YOUR BODY!).
So, lets start off, shall we? Like every good play, we will first begin by introducing the characters. So, friends, its time to meet your body!
Meet Your Genitals
Hello there! Its time to meet your body!
Im hoping youre already a little familiar with your body. You have inhabited it for at least a few years and probably already know well that weird backache that starts for no reason, that stray chin hair that sprouts no matter how frequently you pluck it out, and that one stupid pimple that keeps saying hello even after you pop it.
But do you know about your sexy bits? The parts that we dont discuss so publicly? The parts you want to learn about but are afraid of Googling or asking someone? I mean, sure, youve awkwardly discussed your genitals with your friends with a lot of giggling. And maybe youve seen some porn and been confused about how your body parts look in comparison to the porn stars. Maybe youve even managed to study the infamous reproduction chapter in your biology textbook, and learnt about some of the very technical aspects of reproduction... but do you really know about your body?
Now, obviously, you know your body way better than anyone else can ever tell you. But our sex education and body education are so technical that, frankly speaking, its a bit boring. Okay lets be real, its very boring. Nobody remembers (or even cares about) the epididymis, or the fimbriae on the Fallopian tube. But instead of looking at all this from a boring, technical angle, lets see it from a more flattering angle: you see, sex is fantastic, our sexy-time bits are fantastic, and we have oddly been hiding these fantastic things in shame for ages. So, put on your nerd hats, roll up our sleeves, and get this sex ed party started!
Woohoo!
