To all women worldwide who hear a cry in their
hearts to awaken, to heal, and to change the world.

I write this note after teaching in Mexico, as we take off from Mexico City and fly over the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan. Earlier in the week I had climbed the Pyramid of the Moon and looked down at the processional way of the Avenue of the Dead stretching out before me and at the large Pyramid of the Sun to the left. Before me, the landscape rose in softly swelling hills; but I no longer saw just the hills, but the form of a reclining woman, her belly in front of me, her breasts in the distance and her up-drawn knees either side. As the tourist parties in their bright colours started to flock down the processional way towards me in the growing heat, I saw the children of the Goddess of the Land being born into the world from between her legs and beneath her belly. I stood seeing what the ancient pre-Colombian inhabitants saw from atop the pyramid the Sacred Feminine giving birth to her children. I wondered how many tourists realised that they were an active part of an ancient and sacred enactment!

The Sacred Feminine has always been with us, sometimes acknowledged, loved and celebrated, and at other times repressed, vilified, hidden or ignored. But She has always been there in the landscape and within women we only have to shift how we see things to acknowledge Her presence.

This book is based on the Worldwide Womb Blessing, but you do not need to have taken part to have wonderful experiences and awakening insights with the meditations, information and exercises contained here. However, I hope that you hear the call in your heart to experience the Womb Blessing and to share with your friends the invitation to join with many thousands of women across the globe in the Worldwide Womb Blessing meditation.
