Table of Contents
Sphere: Androgyny - title & purpose

This format is meant to be more journalistic than my other format. I am not a journalist. Writing the book The Other Genders (ToG), the writing always felt like handcuffs with very little emotional or casual discussions. Not being able to express fully thoughts and feelings, led me to try this as an alternative format. One that could be created rapidly and with less effort.

In this format, one can discuss pop culture with history or fashion.

The first part of the title of this series Sphere , is an homage to the first real non-binary person website featuring more than one person created in 1997 by Aidan. Although I wasnt a part of that site, that year is an important period of time in my life - I began to explore gender.

The second part of the title pays respect to Sandra Bems first 1974 article in which Androgyny was the last word.

The purpose of Sphere: Androgyny will be to produce a product that discusses multiple facets and aspects of what can be called Androgyny and Androgynous behavior and style.

And finally, having a format that could be quickly made, and is smaller in size, means that the price can be cut down to a low amount. Instead of the higher price, I will place this product at a lower price.

I will try to provide something as an incentive to future editions. This booklet contains content not found anywhere else. It also contains content that will be released in pieces. The Androgynous Appearance book, I plan to release in its entirety over several issues. If you buy all of them, that book is basically free.

I will use and refer to my other books. Relating to them is one form of advertisement. It helps me to justify the low profit that these smaller books will generate. I will only make 35% of what the cover prices is. The other books I make 70%.

Pop-Culture: Pansexual

Miley Cyrus recently revealed more about her relationships and view of her sexuality in Elle UKs October 2015 edition. While this may be the first many have heard of Pansexuality, the term has been used for at least the last 100 years.

Im very open about it Im pansexual. But Im not in a relationship. Im 22, Im going on dates, but I change my style every two weeks, let alone who Im with.

UrbanDictionary.com describes Pansexuality as One who can love sexuality in many forms. Like bisexuality, but even more fluid, a pansexual person can love not only the traditional male and female genders, but also transgendered, androgynous, and gender fluid people.

How does this fit in with Androgyny you might ask. Gender wise, almost half of non-binary people sexual orientation or romantic attraction can be described as bisexual, pansexual, or queer. This article is for that non-binary half. Pansexual, although more prevalent now days, has been around many years.

Pansexual was a term many times used with Freuds Psychoanalysis doctrine and dogma in the early 1900s

In the early 60s, it was used in a study to describe a group of rats that chose mates that were male, female, and juvenile. They were described as male rats behaving in feminine manner, rarely contending against the other dominant rats. The article doesnt say how many times that they actually did contend with dominant status rats, which can only be assumed was a few times. Interesting to note, this study also found homosexual, asexual, and transgender behaving rats. Interesting as well, the article calls asexual rats somnabulists, and likens them to healthy & attractive zombies. And the study found violent rats, which it calls probers . They would stay in the middle, be very active, hypersexual, violent, and canabalistic.

It was also used in the mid 60s sexual revolution movement.

In the 70s, one writing explained that humans are inherently a pansexual creature, capable of responding to a variety of sexual stimuli...every sexually responsive person could respond to every other sexually responsive individual if it werent for aversion reactions and that shifts occur throughout the lifetime of individuals.

One article that sticks out for me is from April 1, 1974 edition of the New Yorker by Judy Klemesrud entitled The Bisexuals which was written during a period of time when sexuality was in or becoming popular. In that article, they list several popular celebrities and historical people that were reportedly open to more than one sex or gender.

Reading that article, I wondered if Miley Cyrus article spawned any similar response - a desire to list celebrities that are pansexual. The need to know who else is this way. Or is Miley the only one.

Most pansexuals will never be known outside of their inner circles.

Even in this old study, behavior similar to human behavior. The violent and sexual in the middle chasing, fighting, and sexually pursuing the others until even up to death.

Politics - POLL: Half of Young People Don't Believe Gender Is Binary

This poll is from earlier this year. In itself the statistic is meaningless, but when compared to historical and other cultural shifts, that view becomes more significant. It is reminiscent of the change in view on Gay and Lesbian Marriage.

While not related directly, when you compare the change in belief to the change in attitude of Gay and Lesbian Marriage among the young, one can only assume that that belief is headed in the same direction.

The Pew Report on from July of this year , showed that in 2011, the belief that Gay and Lesbian Marriages was favorable or opposed, crossed from being opposed by the majority to being favored by young people.

For Gay & Lesbian Marriage, although Each generation increased in favor over the next generation by about 10%, The generations also have changed themselves over the last 15 years increasing by 20%. This may be from individuals reassessing their beliefs.

That change of belief was not from any one group of people. The change was spread out across the entire demographics. Even all of the religious, gender, race, and political members opinions of Gay Marriage increased over that period of time.

Non-binary gender opinions may be next.

How well that opinion becomes, depends on the overall opinion of transgender issues that are prominent at this time.

T and the LGB

This is something I not only hear from certain Trans people, I now hear from certain LG people.

A petition is being sent around trying to promote the removal of transgender from what they put, we ask that organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, Lambda Legal and media outlets such as The Advocate, Out, Huff Post Gay Voices, etc., stop representing the transgender community as we feel their ideology is not only completely different from that promoted by the LGB community (LGB is about sexual orientation, trans is about gender identity), but is ultimately regressive and actually hostile to the goals of women and gay men.

In some ways I agree that issues are different.

Gay and lesbian orientation has become more acceptable, and the main focuses seem recently on which bakers will bake cakes or not for married couples. In contrast, many transgender people are trying to define themselves as being human.

In many ways, the issues are the same or similar.

In my community, ironically half of the community is gay/lesbian/or pansexual. So what happens to those that have non-heteronormative orientations, yet identify as a gender other than just male or female.
