The Narrative Study of Lives
The purpose of this Series is to publish studies of actual lives in progress, studies that use qualitative methods of investigation within a theoretical context drawn from psychology or other disciplines. The aim is to promote the study of lives and life history as a means of examining, illuminating, and spurring theoretical understanding. The Narrative Study of Lives will encourage longitudinal and retrospective in-depth studies of individual life narratives as well as theoretical consideration of innovative methodological approaches to this work.
Guidelines for authors:
The editors invite submissions of original manuscripts of up to 35 typed pages in the areas described above. As a publication of an interdisciplinary nature, we welcome authors from all disciplines concerned with narratives, psychobiography, and life-history. In matters of style, we encourage any creative format that best presents the work. Long quotations in the protagonists voices are desirable as well as discussion of the authors place in the study.
References and footnotes should follow the guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (4th ed.). A separate title page should include the chapter title and the authors name, affiliation, and address. Please type the entire manuscript, including footnotes and references, double-spaced, and submit three copies to:
