This book contains proven steps and strategies on how to increase brain power. It is not hard to feel envy for the person that seems to come by high intelligence naturally. They can remember everything. In fact their mind seems like a steel trap. Have you ever wanted to increase your intelligence and BE smarter? There are quite a few things that you can do to boost your intelligence. The brain is a muscle and is very malleable. It can change and function better, thus increasing your intelligence.

Everything brought to you in this book has actual scientific testing behind it. It works for most, but there are some steps that do not work for some and work outrageously well for others. I urge you try them all and stick with what seems to work for YOU. There will be plenty that does. One thing that the brain does well in most people is LEARN. Learning to BE smarter is a task that can be done.

CHAPTER 1: The Science of Being Smarter

I cannot speak for thousands of generations before mine, but recently there has been a serious push in the science community to find out how the brain works and how to improve the function. Much of it has been in an attempt to try and help people overcome the effects of serious brain injury, but an overall improvement for humanity has been sought as well.

Does society value intelligence? It must with all of the demands it places on schooling, testing and number of secondary education facilities in almost any country. There are even ways that people can get educated online, both in primary and secondary schooling. The market is also filled with brain training toys and a real push to get kids reading younger, doing math younger and ways of beginning to push intelligence past barriers from the start.

There has been a lot of debate in the science community as to what branch might provide the answers. They have looked at the psychology of the mind in regards to learning and memory retention, the physiology of the brain structure and even at the chemical composition of the brain. It has become apparent that the answer does not lie in any one part of scientific study. It is a combination of everything.

In response, they developed a new science for the brain coined neuroscience. It deals with the complete picture of brain structure and function and how to improve everything. They have made some startling and exciting breakthroughs that you will be able to try for yourself. Are you ready to try some new things to improve your brain function and BE smarter? CHAPTER 2: Lumosity

Lumosity is a website that provides games that were made by leading neuroscientists designed to stimulate areas of the brain. The more you work out the separate areas, the smarter you become. They are all backed by scientific testing at Berkley, the University of Michigan and Stanford University. It was first created as a testing field, but has become a training ground for anyone wanting to become smarter.

If it takes exercise to build your muscle tone then it only stands to reason that working out the brain will also create a stronger and more efficient organ. It only takes doing these games for 15 minutes a day. Most people can part with 15 minutes.

How does it work? As you train using the games over time the brain will develop new neural pathways to store and retrieve information. Your score will get better as your brain function improves. This means you gradually get smarter. It is challenging and you get almost addicted to trying to beat your previous scores.

Instead of using the Intelligence Quotient, or IQ, Lumosity scores with Brain Performance Index, or BPI. You will be shown what the average is for your age group and you simply try your best to exceed that as much as you can. If you are consistent with using Lumosity you will start seeing results pretty fast, especially if you can devote an hour a day instead of 15 minutes.

The best part is the games are actually fun! Give it a try.

CHAPTER 3: Exercise and Fasting

Keeping the body in fit and optimum condition will have a positive effect on your brain function. Being sedentary not only clogs up your arteries, but muddles up your thought process and memory recall capabilities. Join an exercise group, do a home exercise program or at least get out and jog or walk every day. Get your heart rate up and your body moving. So many people have a job now in which they sit in front of a computer all day or night. What do they do when they get home? They generally vegetate out on the couch and watch television. Not good for your body OR your mind. In order to get smarter it means making smarter choices with your free time.

You dont have to become a body-builder or marathon runner, but you do need to incorporate some type of regular exercise routine into your life. It will help you live longer and get smarter. Toss away any bad habits like excessive drinking, drug use or smoking as well.

As much as people get preached at about a good diet of healthy foods, I really shouldnt have to say much about that. Eat proper proportion sizes and toss away all processed foods. They are never healthy for anyone. You can sugar coat garbage with all kinds of vitamins but you are still eating garbage with a tiny amount of vitamins. Just toss them in the trash and refuse to buy them anymore. Generally speaking, if a product has a shelf life of decades, it is NOT good for you.
