W ondering h o w? Y ou picked up this book right n o w and y ou r eading it, confirms that y ou a r e a light wo r ker! A light wo r ker is someone who sp r eads light th r ough his or her wo r k.
W elcome to the world of holistic w ellness!!
I n this N e w Age with its rising challenges and scope for awakening, it is impo r tant that w e should all be awa r e of healing modalities because the journey to self r ealization begins with healing on all le v els i.e. bod y , mind and spirit. M any people learn and wo r k with diffe r ent modalities and get benefit and y et the r e a r e many people who a r e skeptical and do not fully t r ust a natural system of healingfor lack of understanding and access millions of people suffer f r om disease and st r ess, and this affects us all, it is time w e wake up! N o w is the time to embrace y our inner calling. N o healing modality or spiritual path is good or bad. I t all depends on what y ou a r e most comfo r table with and what r esonates with y our essence. O ne person may feel R eiki energy to wo r k wonde r fully while another person may find P ranic H ealing or Angels better suited. Y ou ha v e to find it within y ou, connect with it and let it fl o w .
This book is divided into two sections spiritual-healing modalities and moti v ational a r ticles. We ha v e stri v ed he r e to include as many v aried and popular healing modalities as possible. Each chapter includes the E SSENCE, the P R OCESS and the TECHNI Q UE. The technique is something y ou take back home! The modalities and moti v ational a r ticles a r e categori z ed he r e under diffe r ent themes. The themes a r e: The w ellness A pp r oach, The B elief A pp r oach, The B eing A pp r oach and The Body A pp r oach.
W e a r e both blessed and cursed with a tool called MIND. This mind if left unchecked to seek the objects of senses becomes the cause of our ignorance and if w e apply this mind to tap the boundless energy and channeli z e it w e can gain lifelong w ell-being and abundance. This boo k s purpose is to r e v eal diffe r ent ways in which y ou can attain this goal of healing and r ealization.
This book can also be y our guide in a similar way like the I-Ching. Close y our e y es and think of one a r ea of life whe r e y ou a r e experiencing a challenge. O nce y ou ha v e a clear pictu r e, keep this book in y our hands and keep an intention in mind that this book will gi v e y ou a message or a way that y ou need RIGHT NOW. N o w open a page. Y ou will su r ely find the guidance y our hea r t is seeking.
Ill sha r e he r e an experience that made me r eali z e h o w the uni v erse talks to us. I was sitting with my neph e w A r yan in a beachside cafe, looking at the numbe r ed table A r yan said, M aasi ( A unt) look! I t s 1 and 2. I saw the number which was 12, but for A r yan, who still has n t learned the number 12, it was two separate digits...the numbers 1 and 2. Both his pe r ception and my pe r ception w e r e diffe r ent and thus w e saw and understood the same thing diffe r entl y , this insight made me r eali z e h o w p r ofound the uni v ers e s wisdom is that all o ws a million diffe r ent ways of understanding and exp r essing the same t r uth.
The mo r e awa r eness w e gathe r , mo r e w e understand both the pa r ts and the whole of this pictu r e called cosmic c r eation. The GE S T A L T school of ps y chology says that the whole is g r eater than the sum of the pa r ts. M e r e dots take on a meaning when w e can see a ci r cle out of it. Wo r ds alone do not make sense until pe r ception c r eates meaning out of a context. We would ne v er ha v e kn o wn the meaning of the world if the r e w e r e n t an eagl e s point of vi e w . I wonder if Einstein and N e wton also experienced what w e call the ah a moment, when y ou r eali z e that what y ou w e r e looking for was right the r e all along, all y ou had to do was change the perspecti v e. And this is what the r ole of e v e r y healer and teacher is i.e. to facilitate a shift of perspecti v e for a patient or a student.
I s it our ultimate goal to find the whole? I s n t that what w e r e doing all the time, f r om asking our best friend about r elationship advice or seeking kn o wledge f r om a gu r u or seeing our eternity in our child r en, w e a r e constantly looking for the bigger pictu r e. F r om whe r e does this seeking for kn o wledge and l o v e come? And whe r e does it go? The ans w ers as many as the r e a r e minds and hea r ts.
The teacher was once a seeker but in o r der to teach, he always seeks.
The seeker is both a teacher and a student all th r ough his life. And w e a r e all destined to walk this path sometime or the othe r . I f y ou ha v e sta r ted al r ead y , may this book help y ou in all that y ou seek and mo r e.
S watika J ain is a ce r tified clinical hypnothe r apist with a M asters D eg r ee in P s y cholo g y . B eing natu r ally ps y chic, she has explo r ed diffe r ent fields in the domain of spirituality and holistic healing. Th r ough her association with N ew A ge F oundation, she is fu r ther exploring her field of kn o wledge and experience b y studying v arious modalities in depth. H er vision is to complete her jou r ney as a seeker and sha r e her insights for the benefit of all.
The sec r et of getting things done is to act! - D ante A lighieri
W ellness is the natural state of human beings. I llness is a state whe r e one does not feel w ell. While quantum physics has opened a n e w vista in the field of human physiology defined in its wholeness r eplacing the old definition based on r eductionist, mechanistic biochemist r y; the world has n o w come to r eali z e that the con v entional definition of health gi v en b y the W HO needs change. I n this context the IOM, the audit body of US medical establishment, in their F eb r ua r y 2010 meeting, had accepted the n e w definition of whole P erson H ealing (W P H) as the futu r e r efe r ence for healthca r e system.
W ellness (con v entionally called health) is n o w defined as enthusiasm to wo r k and enthusiasm to be compassionate . I nte r estingl y , this fits in with the time- hono r ed definition of health in I ndian Ayu r v eda, the mother of all medical wisdoms in the world, existing f r om the time of the V edas. We ha v e n o w come one full ci r cle in the so-called scientific medicine with a d o wn to ea r th holistic definition of health. The man who led the m o v ement for W P H was late P r ofessor R ustum Ro y , one of the g r eatest scientists the world e v er had. H e was one of the founder members of the IOM.
The ma r keting and p r omotion done b y con v entional medical indust r y has tricked millions of people into a delusional world of w ell being whe r e e v e r ything has a quick fix, and the harmful effects of these medications a r e conside r ed for selling another quick fix. And the game keeps on. O v er 40? I t is time to fix a date for mammogram and the cost has come d o wn for this holiday season f r om the 3950 INR to just 1750 , r eads the p r ominent headline ad v e r tisement in The N e w I ndian e xp r ess of the O ctober 9th, 2011 in Chennai. This kind of disease mongering effo r ts, a r e at the r oot of all our p r oblems in medical ca r e system. They a r e based on the w r ong science of r eductionism. Cancer is not a disease in the t r ue sense. Cancer cells a r e a bunch of jobless, di r ectionless, wandering, r ogue cell s which r emain in the human system for y ears befo r e they sh o w up as clinical cancer only when their numbers ha v e swollen to millions. The r efo r e, the so-called early diagnosis of cancer and cancer sc r eening in the appa r ently healthy populations a r e only myths, although they make good business sense for the cancer indust r y .
