CONTENTS
In 2012, I was lying on the bathroom floor clutching my stomach and screaming in pain. My stress levels were at a peak from working a fast-paced corporate pharmaceutical sales job. My sleep was erratic, and stomach pains haunted me weekly.
After numerous doctor visits and testing, I was left with no answers, and I was given a pill to ease the stomach pain. My health was declining, and I didnt know how or where to go to fix it. It turns out I was suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), adrenal fatigue, stubborn weight gain, and insulin resistance.
After the diagnosis, I took a course on holistic nutrition that opened my eyes to how you can heal your body from common ailments with certain foods. I learned about holistic medicine and how important it is to treat the body as a whole system. This marked the beginning of my journey into holistic healing and my commitment to spread awareness about this healing approach.
I learned to be my own health advocate and seek alternative practitioners for treatment. I learned to manage my stress using meditation, essential oils, and exercise. I also began paying attention to the role of nutrition and how it affected my health. I ate more whole foods, took herbal concoctions and supplements like probiotics that alleviated my IBS, and spent a lot of time gardening and hiking. I was so excited about my own healing journey that I decided to commit to teaching and spreading awareness about this approach to healing.
A few years after supporting local clients with similar health issues, I applied the same principles of holistic health to my toddlers eczema. At one point he was getting sick every other week, suffering from stomach problems, and getting visible rashes on his face, arms, and legs. We were given a round of antibiotics each time we visited the pediatricians office, but I had a feeling they werent needed. It turns out he had a food intolerance to dairy, eggs, and gluten, which was causing the issues. After getting to the root cause of his problems and using a holistic treatment approach, today he is a happier kid, most of the eczema issues have subsided, and his immune system has improved. I am confident that by applying holistic medicine such as essential oils, alternative supplements, and herbs, he is now on a productive healing path.
I am grateful for the many benefits of holistic medicine, and it is my mission to bring this powerful tool to you so you can be empowered to find your own healing path. You can feel good and thrive! My wish is to help make this practice more accessible to more people. It is important to see the patient as a whole and to provide holistic care and treatment, instead of just viewing the patient through the lens of their diagnoses.
