Roy Allison is Head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, London. He has been a Senior Lecturer in Russian International Security Policy at the Centre for Russian and East European Affairs, University of Birmingham.
Alexei G. Arbatov, series editor, is a member of the Yabloko party in the Russian State Duma and is Deputy Chairman of the Dumas Defense Committee. Since 1990 he has been Director of the Center for Political and Military Forecasts at the Institute for World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Yuri E. Fedorov is Professor of Political Science and Deputy Chair of the Department of Political Science at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dag Hartelius, series editor, is Vice President for European Security at the EastWest Institute. As a Swedish diplomat, he served in embassies and consulates in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Berlin, Vilnius, and London, and was Deputy Head of the Division for Central and Eastern Europe at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm.
Nancy Lubin is President of JNA Associates, Inc., a consulting firm that works on projects concerning the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union. Previously, she was Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a Project Director for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment.
Rajan Menon is the Monroe J. Rathbone Professor and Chairman of the Department of International Relations at Lehigh University. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Columbia Universitys Harriman Institute.
Vitali V. Naumkin is President of the Russian Center for Strategic Research and International Studies. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal Vostok-Oriens and Head of the Center for Arab Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Ghia Nodia is Chairman of the Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy, and Development in Tbilisi. He is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy at the Georgian Academy of Sciences and also teaches in the Sociology Department of Tbilisi State University.
Emil A. Pain is Director of the Center for Ethnopolitical Studies and was Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation in 1996. He was also Deputy Director of the Presidential Analytical Service and Head of the Presidential Councils Group on Nationality Problems.
