Sharam Alghasi is a post-doctoral research fellow at Culcom, the strategic research programme at Oslo University. He has studied the representation of migrants in Norwegian talk-shows and debate programmes, as well as media consumption and identity work among Norwegian-Iranians, and is currently engaged in mapping media habits among the residents of an Oslo suburb.
Rikke Andreassen, PhD, is Associate Professor at Malm University College, Sweden; she is a Danish researcher, teacher and consultant in the fields of media, discrimination and equality, addressing racial/ethnic and gender-equality issues. She is the Danish national coordinator for MigraNord, has participated in various public debates, and has published a number of articles as well as the book Der er et yndigt land. Medier, minoritieter og danskhed (Tiderne Skifter 2007).
Eva Baky, PhD, is Professor of Film and Television Studies at Lillehammer University College, Norway. She has published books and articles about film analysis, childrens television in Norway, dating games, television and migrant women, and Norwegian migrant cinema.
Gunn Bjrnsen is a media researcher and anthropologist working as a PhD student at Volda University College. She has done research related to journalism students profiles and attitudes, as well as the recruitment of journalists with minority backgrounds into the newsrooms in Norway.
Leonor Camaur, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Academy for Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (HumES), rebro University, Sweden. Camaurs main research interests are the role of the media in processes of identity formation, citizenship and the role of the media in multi-ethnic societies. Camaur is currently involved in the EC-funded 7th Framework Programme Project Media and Citizenship: Transnational Television Cultures Reshaping Political Identities in the European Union.
Elisabeth Eide, PhD, is Associate Professor of Journalism at Oslo University College, Oslo. She has done research in transnational journalism, as well as in media and migration and gender studies. She has published, authored and co-authored a number of books within the field of journalism research, among them two volumes on the Mohammed cartoons controversy. Currently, she is co-chairing a global network, Media Climate, and is the Norwegian coordinator of the Migranord network. She is also the author of five novels.
Karina Horsti is a post-doctoral researcher at CEREN, University of Helsinki, and director of the Nordic Research Network for Media, Migration and Society; in 2009, she was a visiting scholar at New York University. Horstis research interests focus on racist and anti-racist discourses, the mediatization of migration and difference, and European multicultural media policies.
