Bonin Bough is one of the most important change agents in marketing; his knowledge of mobile marketing is second to none. One of Americas most energetic mobile believers and a true friend, Bonin brings his unique sermon on mobile from the pulpit to the page.
Carolyn Everson, VP of Global Marketing Solutions at Facebook
Insightful, in-the-trenches look at how businesses can transform themselves with digital and how individuals are having their lives transformed by mobile.
Gary Vaynerchuk, entrepreneur and marketing leader
Surprising and insightful. Bonin reveals the many different ways in which mobile technology can impact our lives. A powerful message that affects us all.
Peter Guber, CEO of Mandalay Entertainment, owner of the Golden State Warriors & LA Dodgers, and #1 New York Times bestselling author
Bonin is a scientist in marketers clothing, studying the nature of communication between people through networks the way a biologist would observe ants touching antennae. His insights are not mere intuitions, but rigorous, workable, and applicable lessons in the transmission and dissemination of ideas. In the wrong hands, these tools are dangerous. In the right ones, well, lets see what you come up with.
Douglas Rushkoff, author and media expert

F ROM MANUSCRIPT TO MOVEMENT, it was a three-year journey to bring this book project to life. Taking my thoughts on mobile from the pulpit (of the numerous global conferences I speak at) to the page started off as a fun-to-do project, but it became more challenging than I could have imagined. I cant express how excited I am to share this book with you.
There were many people who made this book what it is. One of the earliest was Luke Robert Mason, the researcher and one of the strongest believers on the project and also the person responsible for this books title. Completing the manuscript was only the first half of the journey; it was not until two years into the project, when Luke and I sat at a coffee shop two blocks from my house, that we came up with Txt Me. I knew all along that we wanted to do something different and it was that title that was the inspiration to turn the book into a conversation: to start a movement. A movement to understand the impact your phone is having on your life.
This book would have not been possible were it not for the unique talents of Peter Smith, who was able to both carry my voice and craft this book into a compelling read. His ability to mold complex ideas around provoking narratives is unparalleled. We were truly lucky to have him agree to be part of our team.
This book was truly a team effort, and I am so grateful of every single person who has been on this journey. One of the most important is Cheryl Kuchel Josephthe love of my life. She has been there for every call (even when I wasnt), and was copied onto every email and every text that was sent on the project. It would have never happened without her love and dedication.
Special mention goes to Mickey McManus and Bant Breenthe smartest people I know. They were there for me whenever I thought the book had lost its direction or needed to be inspired. They are both dangerous armed with whiteboards and marker pens.
Jonathan Cohen was the one who helped to start the spark that gave rise to the flame. Together with his team from Agency of Trillions, he was able to help us find our agent, writer, and publisher and shaped the development of the project during the early days.
However, without our agent Jeff Kleinman in our corner we might have never met the amazing people at BenBella, who have been pivotal.
The involvement of BenBella might be the single largest reason this book is happening. Their belief in this book has been unprecedented. I want to thank everyone there; they have been been amazing, and I could not have asked for a more dedicated publisher. Special thanks go to Leah Wilson for her tireless editing. It is because of her that the book is 1,000 times better than I could have ever imagined. And it is because of their entire team that I know we are going to crush it. Big shout-outs go to The Participation Agency of Jessica Resler and Ruthie Schulder for their creative genius and Josh Cocktail for his inspiration and excitement.
Then there are all of the people who shared their opinions, stories, and perspectives for the book. It is impossible to count the number of conversations with various folks over the last three years but these names stick in my mind (in alphabetical order): Raj Amin, Dana Anderson, Chrys Bader-Wechseler, Adam Bain, Trudy Barber, Katherine Bell, Brad Berens, Gary Bunt, Hedi Campbell, Gotham Chopra, Nigel Clarkson, Josh Cocktail, Susan Cole, Matthew Collier, Louis Cona, Ron Con-way, Frank Cooper, Dick Costolo, Doug Davis, Laura Desmond, David Droga, Marc Ecko, Carolyn Everson, Brian Felsen, Chris Fralic, Cindy Gallop, Mike Germano, Alexis Ginas, Renny Gleeson, Daniel Gluck, Peter Greenberger, Bobby Grunewald, Peter Guber, Mark Hatch, Gail Heimann, Guy Horrocks, Lacey Hulsey, Tim Hutchings, Alex Johnston, Dan Jones, Jeffery Jones, Jesse Kirschbaum, Elliott Klein, Daniel Kraft, Kevin Lee, Ben Lerer, Ken Lerer, Bex Lewis, Brian Logan Dales, Jeff Lucas, Marc Monseau, Amanda Mork, Mahesh Murphy, Kate Nocera, Ogi Ogas, Thomas Otton, Amanda Palmer, Shelly Palmer, Rosette Pambakian, Eva Pascoe, Antonio Peronance, Simon Perry, Steve Phelps, Pete Philips, Jim Plante, Jane Pratt, Sean Rad, Sarah Robb OHagan, Douglas Rushkoff, David Sable, Karen Salama, Gary Schwartz, David Shing, Bob Sillerman, Mark Silva, Joel Simkhai, Redg Snodgrass, Jamie Soper, Ivo Stivoric, Jesse Stollak, Steve Stoute, Volker Sydow, Chris Tamara, Sue Thomas, Andrew Thompson, Joe Tripodi, Gary Vaynerchuk, Natacha Volpini, Belisa Vranich, Stefan Weitz, Bryan Wiener, Rodney Williams, Brett Wilson, Ian Wolfman, Brian Wong, and Shayan Zadeh.
