The Editors
Virgil Zeigler-Hill,PhD, is a Professor and the Director of GraduateTraining for the Department of Psychology at Oakland University inRochester, Michigan. He earned his PhD in social-personality from theUniversity of Oklahoma in 2004 under the guidance of Dr Carolin J.Showers. His primary research interests are in three interrelated areas:(1) dark personality features (e.g., narcissism, spitefulness), (2)self-esteem, and (3) interpersonal relationships. He is the author ofmore than 180 publications including edited volumes such as The DarkSide of Personality, Self-Esteem, Evolutionary Perspectiveson Social Psychology, and The Evolution ofPsychopathology. He is currently an associate editor for theJournal of Personality, Journal of PersonalityAssessment, and Self and Identity as well as serving as aco-editor for the Encyclopedia of Personality and IndividualDifferences.Todd K. Shackelfordreceived his PhD in Evolutionary Psychology in 1997from the University of Texas at Austin. Since 2010, he has beenProfessor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at OaklandUniversity in Rochester, Michigan, where he is Co-Director of theEvolutionary Psychology Lab. In 2016, he was appointed DistinguishedProfessor by the Oakland University Board of Trustees. Shackelford haspublished around 250 journal articles and his work has been cited about15,000 times. Much of Shackelford's research addresses sexual conflictbetween men and women, with a special focus on testing hypothesesderived from sperm-competition theory. Since 2006, Shackelford hasserved as editor of the journal Evolutionary Psychology, and in2014 he founded the journal Evolutionary Psychological Science asEditor-in-Chief.
The Contributors
Juliet R. Aikenis the Program Director of the University ofMaryland I/O Master's of Professional Studies. She earned her PhD inIndustrial Organizational Psychology and a Certificate in Statistics inMeasurement at the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition toher work at UMD, Juliet consults for public, non-profit, and privatecompanies as well as other researchers. Her consulting and researchfocus on leveraging statistics to promote diversity in organizations,improve talent management, and enable organizational change. Recentclients include the IBEW Local 26 Apprenticeship Program, the FederalAviation Administration, Intrax Inc., and Mercer. Juliet also hasexperience in legal contexts, both as an expert witness for theDepartment of Justice, and as a consultant engaged by the Receiver forthe Jefferson County Commission, Alabama during their consent decree.Juliet was one of the recipients of the 2017 Innovations Award from theInternational Personnel Assessment Council for her work on cognitiveability tests.
