It is the breeding time, Your Highness, Regina said, as she approached Queen Morgiann.
Regina knew what her queens reaction would be. She should, it was the same each year when the young women needed to be bred. It was the duty of every young woman of the Kingdom of Telligan to bring forth a healthy girl child. In this way she would continue the line of women who not only ran the kingdom, but also ruled it with an iron hand.
Necessary evil, Morgiann growled, holding up her hand to accept the scroll with the names of this years candidates for the breeding program. It cant be! she shouted. There has to be a mistake!
I assure you, Highness, there is no mistake.
How is it that my daughter Adriannes name tops this list?
As you must recall, your daughter has been of age for the past four years. Each time you have insisted I remove her name from the list. Adrianne came to me and begged me to put her name on the list. She sees all her friends with their daughters and longs to become a mother herself.
The girl is young. What does she know of the process other than the end result? If she were to produce a boy, she would be forced to endure the entire nasty affair a second time or even a third. Added to that, there is not a breeder in captivity who is worthy of a princess.
Regina sighed deeply. As head of the breeding program, she went through this every year. Morgiann and Regina had grown up together. While Morgiann found breeding barbaric, Regina enjoyed the company of men. She knew it was due to her mothers influence.
She remembered her mother fondly. As a child, Regina accompanied her through the kingdoms of the planet of Plazer, as well as other planets, in search of suitable breeders. Like all the women of the kingdom, Regina had been sterilized as soon as she produced the obligatory daughter. It was the position of the government, as well as the queen, that sterilization ended not only a womans childbearing capabilities, but also her sex drive.
The thought of such a thing was absurd. Regina had been taught that sterilization in no way diminished her desire to be with the men who needed to be tested to become breeders.
While the other girls had their clits removed during sterilization, Reginas mother insisted her daughters be left intact so she could continue as head of the breeding program. In arguing her position, she told the counsel the head of the breeding program needed to be able to get pleasure from the men she tested in order to know if they were suitable to become breeders.
I agree, Regina said. We have no stock worthy of Princess Adrianne. I have checked the stock we have in captivity and Ive decided we must go further afield to find a proper breeder. I checked with the keeper of the database as to where to find the most virile men in the galaxy. She tells me there is an insignificant planet called Earth, where the men are well versed in lovemaking.
Earth? Morgiann questioned. Ive never heard of it. Can you even get there?
I asked the same question. Miriam, in teleportation, has checked and she says she can easily send me there. Im ready to leave immediately. As you know, the selection process and training could take several weeks. Im certain the princess will be able to wait.
Very well. I will explain everything to my daughter. I have no doubt that in your absence, your daughter, Quamnu, will be able to take over your duties. Its hard to believe she already has a daughter in the nursery and has undergone sterilization. From what I have been told, she is more than ready to take up her role in society.
Regina smiled. Her plan was working perfectly. She would go to Earth with all the forged papers she would need. Once she found someone suitable for the princess, she would send him back to Telligan. After that, she would be free to begin a new life. With her daughter able to take over her duties, Regina would no longer be needed. At the age of thirty-five, she could not see herself working in the nursery or volunteering for the medical procedure that would end her life.
I will be ready to leave by nightfall. Once I get to Earth, I promise to find a male suitable for Princess Adrianne.
Mark Betzer made his way to the bar. Tonight he was meeting several of his buddies to plan a bachelor party for his best friend, who had fallen into the marriage trap.
He smiled at the thought. Any number of women had tried to trap him over the years, but none were successful. He wanted nothing more than to grow into a dirty old man, leaving at least a thousand women in his wake, and at the age of thirty-two he was well on his way to his goal.
As usual, he scanned the bar, not only for his friends, but also for available women. Noting he was the first to arrive, he turned his attention to the striking woman with jet-black hair, accented by a white streak, at the end of the bar.
My name is Mark, Mark Betzer, he said, seating himself on the stool next to her. Whats yours?
She smiled, showing a set of beautiful white teeth. He decided she must have paid a dentist a mint to have had them whitened.
Regina, she replied, her voice sounded like the tinkling of a small bell.
Regina what?
She smiled. Just Regina.
He eyed the chocolate martini in front of her. Can I buy you another drink, Just Regina?
For a moment, she looked at him as though she didnt understand a word he said. Finally she nodded. Yes, Id like that very much.
He motioned to the bartender, completely intrigued by her accent. Where are you from? he asked, as he waited for the drink to be served.
Its a very small kingdom. Im certain youve never heard of it.
Maybe it was small, but the way she ran her hand up his leg and checked out his package, told him this kingdom she called home was far from backward. She was wasting no time in making it evident she wanted him in her bed.
Have you been in town long? I dont remember seeing you here before.
I just got in earlier this week. Im looking for someone special and it looks like Ive found him. Are you married?
Me? Married? Hell no. I wouldnt do that ball and chain thing for all the money in the world. There are too many beautiful women, like you, to keep me occupied.
Again she smiled. I sense you came here for another reason. Why dont you finish the business you came to do and then come back and get me? Ill be waiting for you.
She picked up the drink and made her way to a table, just as his friends joined him at the bar.
Whos the fox? Tad Walker asked.
