Rantin was originally presented at Cottiers Theatre, Glasgow on 17th April 2013 as part of the Auteurs Project, a collaboration between the National Theatre of Scotland and the Arches, and Behaviour 2013 with support from the Esme Fairbairn Foundation.

BIOGRAPHIES
Kieran Hurley
Kieran Hurley is an award-winning writer, performer, and theatre-maker based in Glasgow. His work has been presented internationally and throughout the U.K. His monologue Beats was developed with the Arches Platform 18 Award and was awarded Best New Play at the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS). Other works include Hitch (Arches, Forest Fringe, CATS Best New Play nominee) and Chalk Farm (co-written with AJ Taudevin, ran Mr, Thick-Skin). Kieran has frequently written for collaborative projects such as The Jean-Jacques Rousseau Show, Demons, and The Deficit Show (ran Mr, OTT), and Whatever Gets You Through The Night (Arches), and has been a regular contributor to Theatre Uncut with his plays Amanda and London 2012: Glasgow. Kieran has recently completed a year as playwright-in-residence with the National Theatre of Scotland as recipient of the Pearson Playwrights Scheme bursary.
Gav Prentice
Gav Prentice is a Glasgow based multi-instrumentalist. He is one half of pop duo Over the Wall, best known for their debut album Treacherous on Motive Sounds Recordings, their Around The Isles in 80 Days tour of Britain and Ireland, and their flagship anthem Thurso, borrowed for the theme of BBC comedy series Burnistoun. As part of Over the Wall, Gav has also contributed music to the Scottish Governments Greener Scotland campaign, Channel 4s Skins, and Kieran Hurleys Hitch. His debut solo album The Invisible Hand was released on Instinctive Racoon records in 2012. The release was supported with solo performances around Scotland and contains original songs which would later feature in Rantin. Over the Wall has recently released This Is How We Did It EP and the single Tell Her I Love Her on Gerry Loves Records, and will return to touring the UK in 2014.
Julia Taudevin
Julia trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Theatre credits include Chalk Farm (ThickSkin), The Deficit Show (ran Mr), The Knight of theBurning Pestle (National Theatre Studio), Hannah and Hanna (Catherine Wheels), Much Ado About Nothing (Greenwich Park Open Air Theatre), The Jean-JacquesRousseau Show (ran Mr), Aislings Children (Red Sky at Night), The Lord of The Flies (TNT International Touring Co), The Rivals (Wimbledon Theatre) and The YelloWing (Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival). Her film work includes Sunshine On Leith.
Drew Wright
Drew Wright is also known as Wounded Knee, a singer and experimental vocalist based in Leith, Edinburgh. He has been making music since 2004. Much of his work explores the tensions between tradition and modernity. In recent years his work has expanded into theatre, live film soundtracks, art installations and making work for children and young people. He has performed all over Scotland as well as internationally in Sweden, Germany, Belgium and Holland and England. He is an experienced live performer and often explores ways of presenting his work beyond conventional gigs. In 2013 he devised his Song Shop: a portable, peripatetic pop-up shop with which he performed in Edinburgh for LeithLate and in Cupar, Fife for the Cupar Arts Festival. Also in 2013 he worked with migrants to Scotland to create new music for The Nation//Live: a major exhibition at the National Galleries of Scotland, on display until May 2014. At the close of 2013 Drew made number 24 in The Lists Hot 100 of cultural contributors.
Liam hurley
Liam Hurley is a collaborative writer and director. His previous collaborative writing credits include Greeks & Geeks (Citizens Theatre & TAG), The Will to Build (Theatre du Pif, Hong Kong), Global Campfire (Pamoja Arts, Tanzania), As Well Be Shot as Be Starved (Restormel Arts, Cornwall) and Glue (Impact Arts Gallery 37, Glasgow). He has also written for the National Theatre of Scotlands Learn projects; Smiler, Mixter Maxter and Bolt.
Lisa Sangster Set and Costume Designer
Lisa trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she received a Sir Geraint Evans Open Scholarship Award and the Legal and General Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Her design work for the National Theatre of Scotland includes Jump and Transform Dumfries. Other theatre design work includes Educating Ronnie (Utter/Macrobert), The Incredible Adventures of See Thru Sam, Double Nugget, Smalltown, Little Johnnys Big Gay Wedding, Promises, Promises, Little Johnnys Big Gay Musical (Random Accomplice), Whisky Galore, Baby Baby, Talking Heads (Dundee Rep), My Romantic History (Borderline), Jackie and the Beanstalk, Snow White of the Seven DeWharffs (Macrobert Arts Centre), Carthage MustBe Destroyed (Ustinov Studio, Bath), The Pearlfisher, Strangers, Babies, Broke, Distracted (Traverse). Future work includes Misper (Scottish Opera) and Cars and Boys (Dundee Rep).
Matt Padden Sound Designer
Matt is a sound designer and engineer. Since 2008, he has been Head of Sound for the National Theatre of Scotland, where his designs include A Christmas Carol, Long Gone Lonesome, Wall of Death: A Way of Life and, as Technical Sound Designer, Enquirer. Other sound designs include Entartet (Kai Fischer/Vanishing Point/CCA), Subway (Vanishing Point) and Woyzeck (Corcadorca).
Paul Claydon Lighting Designer
Paul has been Head of Lighting for the National Theatre of Scotland for five years. His lighting designs for the National Theatre of Scotland include Reasons to Dance, Long Gone Lonesome, Wall of Death: A Way ofLife, Transform Fife, Aalst, Elgin Macbeth, Project Macbeth, A Christmas Carol and Roam (with Gridiron). His work for Gridiron includes Fierce, Devils Larder, Once Upon a Dragon, Yarn, Tryst, Barflies and Leaving Planet Earth. Paul was nominated for Best Design for A Christmas Carol at the 2012 Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland.
