The human race has invented nearly every toxin imaginable. In our food, there are chemicals that kill pests, make foods ripen faster and grow bigger, and lengthen shelf life. In our clothing, chemicals make fabrics soft, keep them from wrinkling, make them fire retardant and resistant to stains, and keep them from collecting static. In our kitchens and bathrooms, chemicals create suds, remove grease, stiffen our hair, make our skin feel smooth, stop us from perspiring, change our hair color, lengthen our lashes, and make us smell good.

Unfortunately, many of these chemicals, designed to improve and simplify our lives, cause birth defects, hyperactivity, learning disabilities, attention deficit, early puberty, and developmental problemsto name a few.

The Pure Cure takes readers to a new level of awareness regarding the dangers of the toxins in everyday products and services. Taking a thorough and comprehensive approach, the book guides readers through every...

Praise forThe Pure Cure
The Pure Cure is an insightful and powerful tool for those searching for meaningful health and healing. The authors expose the not-so-obvious and expound on the essentials in a way that empowers each reader to become a more responsive and responsible person.
In our stressful, busy world, most of us employ health-building methods in a cursory way, often neglecting the less obvious culprits that prevail. Most of us take our work and residential environments for granted. By lack of thought, we use cleaning products, building materials and even lighting methods that drain our health. We adorn our bodies with chemicals and chemically-treated fabrics that perpetuate disease. We eat chemically-laden food, drink chemically-treated water and breathe polluted air. And just when we think we have it all figured out, we remember our cell phone with its invisible wireless connectivity that links to computer, electronic books, iPods, and the big scary tower down the street. The authors leave no stone unturned. What I love most about this contribution is the nuance and detail that are central in health-building and conscious avoidance.
Tenuous, non-committal learned patterns are our greatest enemy. It is only wisdom and the application of truth that banishes these squelchers of human dignity. The Pure Cure is one of the most well researched and clearly composed works I have ever read. I strongly encourage you to do more than read this manuscript of truth. I encourage you to use it as a reference and to share this gift with those you love. It will help them and all of humanity to make necessary changes. I know you will be as deeply touched by the sincerity, authenticity, and revelations within it as I have been.

Brian Clement, Ph.D., L.N. founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute

Finally, two authors have put together a book that deals with the overwhelming toxic environment we live in. This outstanding book discusses everything from wireless toxins to toxic metals, to chemicals at home and in the workplace, to a whole host of everyday contaminants that are literally destroying human civilization. The Pure Cure is a must read. It provides real solutions for living in our toxic world.

Dedication

This book is for those who yearn to be all they can be. It is for all those who acknowledge their innate connection with the earth and with nature. It is for every parent whose desire is to raise their children in a safe environment (physically, emotionally, and spiritually). It is for every health care practitioner whose mission is to be a catalyst for health, and it is for every person who yearns to be well.
It is dedicated with gratitude to the many teachers, friends, and loved ones who have inspired and supported the authors journey through the years. It is also dedicated to their children and to all the children of the world. May they enjoy abundant health, and may they never forget the wonder of the sacred dance we call life. The book is also dedicated to the memory of Wilk Wilkinson, who left this world September 27, 2006. He was an artist, a friend, a loving partner, and the perfect reflection of love.
EYE OF PASSION
Mid summer heat
A fleeting moment of spring beauty
Scented in the essence of
Feminine grace
Set in eternal bliss
A kiss away
As the summer winds of time
Blow forth
Like the mountain wild flowers
Radiant to all to see
Beyond the night flight.
And so the dance of life
Touches the soul of those
Who
Participate in
Passion

Foreword
THE PURE CURE
Years ago, when the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center was in the planning stages, I envisioned a place where people could have an experience of conscious livingeverything from organic gardens and life force-preserving food preparation, to buildings created from sustainable practices with clean sources of power. I envisioned a place where people could experience the healing energies of earth, air, water, sun, and cosmos; I referred to this experience as holistic enlightened living. Now, eighteen years later, The Pure Cure explains why holistic enlightened living is a must for everyone on the planet. I have looked at this book not only as a holistic physician, but also through Native American eyes as a sundancer, spirit dancer, and Lakota clan chief as well as a rabbi. These eyes are crying at the desecration of mother earth by a greed-oriented world. Not only is there a biblical teaching not to pollute the public commons, but also there are specific biblical teachings that we must not only preserve the ecology and feed the hungry with good food, but also have the moral and spiritual obligation to strongly protect our life force and health. These are the key points and teachings of this outstanding book that empowers us on all levels.

Sharyn Wynters and Burton Goldberg have created a masterful guide for those who are interested in conscious (enlightened) living. They have provided the background, the research and the reasons why we must look to non-toxic and sustainable options if we are to move forward as a liberated human community. The reader will find incentives to avoid foods grown on corporate farms, water treated in municipal treatment facilities, unseen electromagnetic fields from our electrical and wireless power grids, and chemicals found in clothing, personal care products, furniture, cleaning solutions, and building materials that contaminate the air we breathe. There is even a chapter on ways to overcome emotional and spiritual obstacles that are toxic in their own way.

Modern living has brought with it untold hazards many of which are cleverly hidden until someone points them out. The Pure Cure, A Complete Guide to Freeing your Life from Dangerous Toxins does a wonderful job of pointing them out. But the authors go beyond exposing the problems. Within the pages of The Pure Cure, you will find natural alternatives and sustainable options to help protect your health and preserve the Earth. You will gain a new appreciation for the bounty of life on this beautiful planet and you will want to participate in helping to restore balance.
