Why teach young children a foreign language? Most language experts agree that there is a highly efficient window of opportunity for young learners to absorb a new language efficiently. In other words: the younger the better in terms of learning a new language! It is certainly easier for young children to absorb a new language without the selfconsciousness and embarrassment of older learners. They are keen and fresh, full of curiosity about new ideas, ready to experiment, open to new experiences and eager to find out about how other people live. They love getting their tongues around strange new sounds, even those that do not feature in their mother tongue. They are in one of the most productive learning phases of their lives and they lap up the sheer fun of the experience.
