v This book is dedicated to all children, teens, and young adults at risk for and suffering with mental health disorders, especially those with severe conditions that require hospitalization and those who have little or no access to evidence-based programs and treatment. I have been blessed to care for so many of these affected children, adolescents, and young adults, including those hospitalized at the Elmira Psychiatric Center Children and Youth In-Patient Unit, who enriched my life for almost two decades. These children and youth taught me that rainbows follow rain and that, even with the most severe conditions, there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow.
