Now we are one of the most endangered animals on earth. This is my favourite tree. I like to come here to groom myself and play and wrestle with my friends. We make many different sounds to communicate. We cry like a baby, bark like a dog, or growl, squeal, or honk. When I was born I weighed only 90 grams.

Sometimes my mother gives birth to twins. She will look after them for about two years. My father weighs 120 kilograms. He can eat up to 16 kilograms of bamboo a day, feeding for up to 14 hours. Then he needs to rest so the bamboo can digest. I love to eat bamboo. I love to eat bamboo.

See how I strip the leaves from the stem with my special thumb. Then I eat the tender bamboo stems. I like to lie down or sit up when Im eating so I can get a better hold of the bamboo stem. Sometimes I eat flowers, fruit, mushrooms and insects. I walk or run on the ground with my padded paws, but I love climbing trees with my friends. We like to climb up a tree and have a good scratch.
