Vegetable Gardening: 7 Simple Steps for Planting, Including Raised Beds, Potted Containers, Soil Preparation, Weed Control and More: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Vegetable Gardening: 7 Simple Steps for Planting, Including Raised Beds, Potted Containers, Soil Preparation, Weed Control and More" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Gardening is easy: discover how you can grow a perfect vegetable garden, and enjoy fresh, organic food every day.

You dont have a green thumb. Youve never managed to keep a houseplant alive for more than two weeks. You dont have enough gardening space.

If youve used any of these as a reason not to grow your own vegetable garden, youve been missing out.

Heres the thing:

  • Green thumb is a myth. The idea that some people are born with an innate ability to tend plants is absurd -- and totally fake.
  • Gardening doesnt take up that much space. You can grow a huge variety of vegetables on your balcony, or in a small patch of dirt in your backyard.
  • As for the unfortunate houseplant massacre... Well, the plants didnt die because youre a natural plant slayer. You simply didnt know what it takes to keep them alive.

Youll often hear experienced gardeners talking about intuitive gardening, and how you need to have a natural affinity towards growing plants to have a great garden.

Nope, not true.

Successful gardening comes down to careful planning, intelligent planting choices, and simple maintenance.

Gardening is a skill, and skills can be developed. All it takes is a bit of enthusiasm and a passion for the outdoors... and a beginner-friendly gardening manual, of course.

What makes this particular guide different from all others is a single assumption: this book assumes you dont know anything about gardening.

It will teach you everything.

From basic soil preparation to maintenance, composting, and climate zoning, youll learn everything you need to start growing organic, healthy food -- no matter what size space youre working with.

So dont stress about your lack of experience or previous gardening fails. Everyone has to start somewhere, and now you have the perfect opportunity to do so.

In Vegetable Gardening, you will discover:

  • Techniques for choosing the right place for your garden based on your climate zone, water access and sun-shade ratio
  • Tips on how to decide on the size of your garden, including smart solutions for making the most of a small gardening space (with a list of high-yield plants that dont take up much space)
  • A comprehensive guide on gardening soil: discover how to determine which type of soil you have, how to prep it for planting, and which plants grow best in a particular soil type
  • Precise instructions for choosing which plants to grow in your garden (including mini-guides on growing season and starting seeds indoors)
  • Tips on how to lay out your garden - discover which vegetables love to be neighbors, and which to keep far from one another to ensure the best growth (and a rich harvest!)
  • Expert maintenance strategies for keeping your garden clean, healthy and pest-free
  • Harvesting tips and tricks, including a guide on how to prepare your garden for the next season
  • A complete list of plants to grow in both warm and cold areas

And much more.

Even if youre not a complete beginner, youll want to take a peek inside this guide: youll discover some innovative gardening techniques... and you might finally find out why some of your plants refuse to cooperate, no matter how much care and time you give them.

About the Author:

I have always loved gardening the fantastic green foliage that immediately elates my mood triggering responses that bounce through billions of neural pathways to inevitably tell all the dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins to start promoting the great "This is my day" feeling. I mean, inhaling the positivity that nature gives to soothe and relax our human nature is a gift, and I'm embracing all of it.

My father started this hobby when I was younger. He had a passion for growing greens. I vividly remember when I was seven, my father transformed our patio into his little farm. At first, my mother was a bit skeptical about it because it does not go with our house's "aesthetics," but she relished the free vegetables anyway. My father's love for growing greens then became a family bonding time. He would teach my mother and me how to grow certain greens and where to place them, identifying the ones that need more sunlight and ones that required some shade. At first, I found it icky because I have to deal with the scorching heat plus the soil in which sometimes, or most of the time, contains a wild, wiggly, weird-looking no eyes, no legs, no arms earthworms till one day I woke up wanting more.

My father's garden was our own calm and joy spaced just at the back of our home, where my family and I often gather and eat a variety of dishes from meat to fish and more of our harvested vegetables and fruits. During my childhood, there was this one event where I realized how gardening could connect people even those you haven't talk for years or maybe since the very start. One summer night, my family and I were preparing dinner, and lo and behold, my mother decided that it was the best night to showcase her 5-star cucumber salad. I ran for my life to pick some cucumbers but was saddened to see that it has been harvested to zero. So being the smart woman that I am who is capable of trading and marketing, I stopped having to think of another tomato salad; instead, I went to my neighbor and asked for a cucumber, and in return, I offered her some of my father's very own product of hard work. And since then, gardening became my passion, my sense of calm, my love and appreciation for life and nature, and a way for me to connect to everyone.

Introduction

There is no getting around it: gardens are beautiful and healthy, bringing a lot of fresh air. It is natural to want to look at one or desire one for your own home. We desire beauty because beautiful things have a profound impact on us; beautiful things make us happier, and because we are more comfortable, we experience lower stress levels. And because of that, our bodies stop dumping harmful hormones into our bodies. Stress hormones can make us age faster, get sick quickly, and even struggle to feel better when we do get sick. The effects that beautiful things have on our behavior are remarkable. Beautiful things make us kinder to each other; they make us better neighbors and citizens. Our health is also everything to us; feeling well is the most fantastic thing ever.

But in today's world, it might not be easy to eat organic, pesticide-free food as much as possible. Having your garden can help with your goals for a healthier diet. Also, clean air can add years to your life and contribute to a general feeling of well-being. A garden can keep the air in your backyard and your house cleaner.

Preparing the soil, selecting a site, planning the garden, planting a crop, selecting plants and seeds, and developing the plants until they're suitable for harvesting are all part of vegetable gardening. The result is a new product that can be consumed, shared, or sold.

Growing veggies takes some distance, but not always acres. A vegetable garden may be on the floor or within a planting bed. However, it does not need to be. Many vegetables can be raised in containers. By way of instance, good lettuce for a salad could be grown at a 12-inch kettle on the rear deck. To get a fantastic start on a yummy salad, you can insert several radishes and carrots, which are raised in 12-inch containers, like sweetness and spice. A garden can be a cost-effective way of helping us maintain a healthy lifestyle and making us happier, but there is a minor problem of not knowing where to start. So, think of this book as a map. A map has enough information to get you where you want to go and just enough to help you be familiar with the landscape and not get lost. It tells you what is out there and what you should expect.

It doesn't only take more than somewhere to grow the vegetables, but for them to succeed, they need more like sun, water, atmosphere, soil, fertilizer, and maintenance.

There are many benefits to incorporating more organic choices into your life, which is why more people around the world are choosing to go natural. At first, going organic may seem to be more expensive. And yes, many organic options in your local grocery store are indeed pricier. However, over time you can find that living a natural lifestyle can save you money! By choosing organic, you can benefit the health of your family, your home and yard, and even the planet. Many studies have found that people experience a wealth of physical benefits and a reduced risk of disease by going natural, saving you money on medical bills in the future.
