ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ben Hans is a musician and music instructor in the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. In addition to keeping a busy performance schedule throughout the upper Midwest, Ben teaches music classes and percussion studies at the Milwaukee Area Technical College, and also instructs more than 50 private music students. With teaching experience at the elementary, intermediate, high school, and collegiate levels, Ben continues to be an assistant to many intermediate and high school band directors and programs.

An active member of the Percussive Arts Society, Ben holds an Associates Degree in Music from the Milwaukee Area Technical College, and a Bachelors Degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin. Ben is an adjudicator and charter member of the I.A.T.D. (International Association of Traditional Drummers), examined by drumming legend John S. Pratt. In addition to leading his own jazz trio, Ben performs regularly as a freelance artist. He endorses Istanbul Agop cymbals and is the author of two other titles published by Hal Leonard Corporation: Workin Drums: 50 Solos for Drumset and 40 Intermediate Snare Drum Solos.
