Facts at a Glance
James and his teammates were playing for the first time in more than four months. Beginning on March 12, 2020, the National Basketball Association (NBA) shut down in the middle of the season. The day before, a player had tested positive for the disease COVID-19. To prevent the disease from spreading, the league suspended all games.
The NBA returned to action on July 30. To avoid travel that might expose players and others to COVID-19, teams played at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Players would stay there until the end of the season. James vowed to play his best. Ill be as locked in as I can be under the circumstances, he said.
