A Water Hero

What a puzzle! I hear the water running, but I see no one at the sink. I, Super Grover, must save the water!

W e U se Wa ter E very D ay

People need fresh water to drink. Fresh water comes from rivers and lakes. Most of Earths water is in oceans. But ocean water is salty.

We cannot drink salt waterit makes us even thirstier . Can we turn salt water into fresh water, Zoe?

We can, Super Grover but it takes a lot of time, money, and energy.

Animals need fresh water to drink too.

Wow, water will help that plant grow!

Plants need water to grow. Plants take in water through their roots.

People use water for cleaning. We wash dishes, cars, and clothesand ourselves! We also use water to have fun.

Elmo loves to swim!

I want to swim too!

We need to make sure theres enough fresh water for everyone on Earth.

We all share the same planet!

Keeping our water clean is important too.

Sometimes people flush the wrong things down the drain.

Dont flush cotton swabs or wipes! They make the water dirty.

Put trash where it belongswith me!

Things like cotton balls or floss can end up in water nearby.

Litter, or trash, pollutes water. Thats bad for people and animals.

You can help protect water too. Being a water hero is a super job!

Many people work hard to clean Earths water. People also try to use less.

Flush only toilet paper down the drain.

Elmo wants to flush the right things!

Make sure to throw trash in the right container. You can recycle paper, plastic, and more.

When you brush your teeth, use only the water you need. Use just a little water to wash your hands.

It doesnt take much water to get the job done!

In a bath, use only enough water to cover your legs. Try to keep your showers short.

A little water, and a lot of bubbles!

Rubber Duckie is a water hero too!

It takes a lot of water to make paper. If you draw on both sides, you use less.
