And the new story

opened a door to another, and another,

and more creation stories kept tumbling out.

What if we found a day before creation

inside the tale we call Bireishit , Genesis

and what if it had been there all along,

sitting there in plain sight,

waiting for us,

ready to pounce?

What then? What do we do with that?

Come and see

Everyone has a creation story .

These are tales we tell ourselves

that make our origins distinct from others

and bring us closer to our people .

Our own stories , we call history or legend,

sacred or scientific truth.

Other peoples creation stories , we call them myths.

We think theyre quaint , blasphemous , a hoax ,

or just plain wrong.

What if we believed

In-the-beginning ... was the beginning

until one day we asked a different question,

and the sacred words sat up and

told a different story?
