Family has always been the primary focus of Carolyns life. Originally from New Zealand, she moved with her family to Broadmeadows, Australia when she was two-years-old. Both her mother and father worked hard to support Carolyn and her brother and sisters. Although they lacked material things, they made up for it with love and laughter.

After Carolyn had her 2nd child, she began to work part-time as a salesperson in a baby store. At that time, she never dreamed that working with new parents and parents to be would be her passion. As the single mother of two boys, when life presented her with personal struggles, it was the joy she found in her work that kept her going.

As her career progressed, Carolyn worked for several baby stores including Mothercare and BabyBunting. Her responsibilities included training staff and opening new stores.

She has also worked as a baby product developer for CNP Brands. This job greatly expanded her knowledge about the design of baby products and related safety issues. She takes pride in the fact that products that she helped design are sold in major retail outlets including Target.

Duri ng her more than 15 years in the industry, Carolyn has worked with and sold a long list of brands that include Boori, Baby Chic, Chicco, Medela, Britax, Gr8x, Baby Jogger, Avent, Nuk, Roger Armstrong, Bugaboo, Steelcraft and Baby Bjorn. In 2013, Carolyn opened her own business working as an agent for brands in the baby industry.

Having had a long career in the baby industry, Carolyn is still frustrated by how much parents to be are misled by incorrect information. Because she understands that they need guidance, Carolyns greatest reward is providing personalised advice and step-by-step instructions. Many of the parents that shes helped have become good friends.

Carolyns love for supporting children and young people has led to a rich life of volunteering. After completing Panda training for Home Start volunteers, shes worked to empower mothers. Carolyn has also worked with Mummies and Babies in Need as well as the Red Nose Day initiative to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Her volunteer activities also include being a street collector for Save the Children. Their back-to-school program supported a large number of children who escaped the conflict in Syria by fleeing to Jordan and Lebanon. Having spent time on the border of Syria and in Israel, this project was close to her heart.

Carolyns love and enjoyment of diverse world cultures has guided her travels. She has visited Fiji Island, Noumea, Lifou, Vila, Suva, Port Denarau, Mystery Island, Bali, Israel, Jordan, Dubai and Egypt.

She lives in Melbourne, Australia with her 2 sons.

With so many items on the market, its difficult to know what items you need and what quality or standard is required to keep your little one safe. Your advice on products that we asked you about to help bring our child into the world, has made a huge difference. Things from setting up the nursery (including where the heating vent is situated), to 100% cotton blankets as their bedding and what to look for in a high chair. We found that in shops we were shown products that the sales assistant liked versus what suited our needs.

First time parents to be.

I first met Carolyn when I was pregnant with my first child over 12 years ago. Carolyn was working for one of the largest retail baby stores and I found her to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful regarding all aspects of the industry, ranging on information from when I was pregnant, to being a new mum and feeding tips and what best suited my baby. Whether it was a simple question or item I was considering purchasing to the bigger items such as prams and cots. Her expertise in this field was invaluable to me and kept me returning to her over and over. Even though my children are older now I still return to her for advice or information on products that I may be purchasing for other new mums and babies. Carolyn has a level of compassion for her job that is rare to come across and I recommend her to every person I know.
