Notes on the Recipes Unless otherwise stated:
Use medium eggs, fruit and vegetables
Use fresh ingredients, including herbs and chillies
Do not mix metric and imperial measurements
1 tsp = 5ml 1 tbsp = 15ml 1 cup = 250ml Symbols are used to identify even small amounts of an ingredient. Where optional ingredients are listed, the symbols reflect both ingredients, so a recipe using olive oil, with coconut oil as an alternative, will not show the nut-free symbol, in case the reader chooses the alternative. Dairy foods may include cows, goats or sheeps milk. Check the manufacturers labelling to ensure cheeses are vegetarian.
Give only the relevantly identified foods to those children with a food allergy or intolerance.

INTRODUCTION
Every parent instinctively wants the best for their child.
We want to help them grow up to be intelligent, happy and healthy, fully equipped to live their lives to the full. It is during childhood that they experience the most rapid growth and development, physically, mentally and emotionally. So if were looking to maximize their potential, it is essential that we ensure that they are optimally nourished. The period between birth and 5 years is one of rapid growth and development, when childrens energy demands soar as they become more independent. To fuel all of this activity, they need nutrient-dense foods in a form that will appeal to their little mouths and hands. This is where finger foods can be so important.
By providing children with a wide range of nutrient-dense bite-sized foods, you can introduce them to new tastes and textures, encourage independent eating and nourish their active bodies.
