I am pleased to present this collection oftraditional origami projects, especially designed for the personwho is new to paperfolding. It is my hope that folding thesesimpler models will spark a lifelong interest in this ancient artform as my first origami books did for me when I began folding. Bylearning how to fold these models, including a dog, piano and ofcourse, the famous crane, you will be on your way to mastering theart of origami. The diagrams are drawn in the internationallyapproved RandlettYoshizawa style, which is easy to follow once youhave learned the basic folds. You can use any kind of square paperfor these models, but the best results can be achieved usingstandard origami paper, which is colored on one side and white onthe other. In these diagrams, the shading represents the coloredside.
