Biographical
- Daniel was born on the 23 rd of July, 1989.
- This puts him on the cusp of Cancer and Leo; people under these sign are typically confident, outgoing and ruled by the heart - yet passionate and caring.
- His full name is Daniel Jacob Radcliffe/
- He was born (and grew up) in West London.
- Daniel is an only child - he has no brothers or sisters.
- Daniel is five foot six inches tall.
- His eyes are grey-blue.
- He suffers from dyspraxia, a condition that affects hand-eye co-ordination.
- His friends just call him Dan/
- Daniel expressed an interest in acting from the tender age of five!
Acting Career - Part 1
- Daniels debut acting role was in 1999 for BBCs adaptation of David Copperfield.
- Before Harry Potter , he also acted in the 2001 film The Tailor of Panama.
- However it was Harry Potter - of course - that gave Daniel his big break, later in 2001.
- Daniel was in fact head-hunted for the lead role, after the producer saw him in David Copperfield.
- However, initially, Daniels parents did not want him to audition for the part - as the contract required him to travel to Los Angeles for long periods of time to shoot the films.
- To get him on board, Warner Bros instead offered him a two-film contract with shooting to take place in the UK.
- Daniel was unsure if he would continue after those two films.
- Rumours began to spread in 2006 as to whether Daniel would be denied the role in the fourth film due to his involvement with Equus . However, he signed in March 2007, laying the rumours to rest.
- Daniel has said that he found The Order of the Phoenix the most fun to film. It earned him several award nominations and a win for Best Male Performance.
- He, like many of his fellow cast members, wept openly during an incredibly emotional last ever day on the Harry Potter set.

- Daniels hobbies include playing his Playstation, listening to music and trying to learn to play the bass guitar.
- He can speak pretty fluent Spanish.

- Daniel is pretty heavy on culture, and writes poetry and short stories - youll find some of his work under the pen-name Jacob Gershon.
- Ever the generous soul, Daniel asks fans to donate to charity rather than buying Christmas or birthday presents for him.
- Daniel has spoken out against homophobia, and has even taken part in an advertising campaign aiming to reduce gay teen suicide levels.
- His favourite charity however is Demelza House Childrens Hospice.
- Daniel first attended school at Sussex House School in Londons posh Chelsea area.
- He then moved up to the City of London School in the capitals world-famous financial district.
- Despite saying that he found schoolwork difficult, Daniel attained three top A grades at his A-Level exams.
Family and Friends
- Daniels father is called Alan George Radcliffe
- Alan is a literary agent and originally came from Northern Ireland.
- His mother is called Marcia Jeannie Gresham.
- Marcia is a casting agent - she has worked on a number of films for the well-respected BBC.
- Daniel is half-Jewish (from his mothers side), however was not brought up to be religious.
- In fact, he has previously described himself as a militant atheist - especially when religion impacts on legislation.
- As a typical guy, Daniel hates ironing - and admitted that even as an adult he would take his laundry round for his mom to do for him...
- Despite being a heart-throb to millions of girls across the world, Daniel has said that he often gets tongue-tied when speaking with members of the opposite sex.
- He is good friends with fellow Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - but has never been romantically involved with Emma, despite rumours (and admitting that he did have a crush on her when they first met)
- From the Harry Potter cast however, his closely friend is Tom Felton - he and Daniel can often be seen in various drinking establishments.
Acting Career - Part 2
- Daniel has said that some people will find it hard to separate him from his role as Harry Potter - but it is a role he is proud to be associated with forever.
- In 2010 Daniel became the voice of an animated character when he recorded the role of Edmund the Vampire in an episode of The Simpsons.
- in 2011 Daniel returned to the West End, this time in a revival of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying .
- The production received nine Tony Away Nominations.
- 2012 saw Daniel take his first major film project since Harry Potter, starring as Arthur Kipps in an adaptation of the horror novel The Woman in Black .
- Daniels godson Mischa also starred alongside Daniel in The Woman in Black , playing his son Joseph Kipps.
- In 2013 Daniel will return to the silver screen in the role of Allen Ginsberg for the John Krokidas thriller Kill Your Darlings .
- He has also been cast as a character called Wallace in an independent Canadian movie being filmed in Toronto and Dublin.
