Biography

  1. Emmas full name is Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson.
  2. She was born on the 15 th of April 1990.
  3. This makes her an Aries.
  4. Emma is around five foot six inches tall.
  5. She has dark brown eyes.
  6. Emma lived in Paris until she was five.
  7. When her parents sadly separated, Emma moved to London with her mother - but continued to visit her father in London at weekends.
  8. Emma attended the Dragon School in Oxford, a fantastically named exclusive prep school.
  9. She also studied singing, dancing and acting at Stagecoach Theatre arts.
  10. At the age of 13, Emma then attended private Headington Girls School.

Acting

  1. Before being cast in Harry Potter, Emma had featured in a number of plays at school and for a theatre company.
  2. These included Arthur: The Younger Years and The Happy Prince.
  3. Emmas first non-Harry Potter role was in the BBC film Ballet Shoes , broadcast on boxing day in 2007 to an audience of almost 6 million.
  4. She has also leant her voice to an animated character - that of Princess Pea in The Tale of Despereaux . Harry Potters Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) also starred in the film.
  5. Emma was said to be interested in the key role in the US remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , however this eventually went to Rooney Mara.
  6. There have been rumours that Emma is being considered for a starring role in the film version of Fifty Shades of Grey.
  7. Emma reckons she cant watch herself in any kissing scenes from her recent film The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
  8. Emma has said that she has been worried about being typecast due to her work on Harry Potter.
  9. Emma denied news stories that she was attacked by a stalker in the woods and was rescued by her bodyguards martial-arts style...
  10. Emma has said that she would be interested to act in musical theatre.

Friends & Family

  1. Emmas fathers name is Chris
  2. And her mothers name is Jacqueline.
  3. They are both lawyers.
  4. Emma has a younger brother called Alex.
  5. Alex is a model, and once worked alongside Emma promoting a Burberry collection.
  6. Through her fame, Emma has met and become friends with Kristen Stewart, Rihanna and Jennifer Lawrence amongst others.
  7. Her friends call her Em.
  8. Emma has been rumoured to have dated a range of eligible bachelors, including Daniel Radcliffe, Jay Barrymore, George Craig, Justin Bieber and Johnny Simmons - however, she has never officially confirmed these rumours, and most of them seem pretty unlikely!
  9. She is however currently dating former classmate Will Adamowicz.
  10. Emma has had two cats - one called Bubble and the other Domino.

Harry Potter

  1. Emma won the role of Hermione in the Harry Potter film series when she was just 9 years old.
  2. She only auditioned because her friends were, and she thought it would be a laugh.
  3. Although Emma was already skilled at dancing, she took special lessons in waltz in preparation for the Yule Ball scene in Goblet of Fire.
  4. Most people would agree Emma looks quite different to how Hermione Granger is initially described... Hermione is said to have huge front teeth and wild, frizzy hair!
  5. When filming the first few Harry Potter films, Emma says that she had a major crush on Tom Felton (who played Draco Malfoy).
  6. Emma loves animals, and when filming for Harry Potter she would often spend any down time visiting the animals used in the movies.
  7. As well as having to act (of course), Emma also studied for up to five hours a day whilst she was on set.
  8. Emma was given a nickname pretty early on: One-Take Watson - this is because she had a reputation for being able to get her scenes filmed on the first take.
  9. After filming the final instalment, Emma wanted to make a clean break from her character. One of the things she did was have her hair cut short in a pixie style. However, some films needed re-shooting, so Emma had to put on a wig!
  10. Emma almost quite the Harry Potter franchise after Order of the Phoenix , however finally decided that the positives outweighed the negatives and signed up for the final batch of movies.

Favourites

  1. Emmas favourite author is Carlos Ruis Zafon.
  2. Her favourite book however is The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro.
  3. Emmas favourite book from the Harry Potter series is actually The Prisoner of Azkaban.
  4. Emma is a big fan of Gossip Girl.
  5. She is a huge fan of Johnny Depp.
  6. Emmas favourite colour is light blue.
  7. Emma says her favourite film is British rom-com Notting Hill .
  8. Emma absolutely adores strawberries.
  9. Beauty and the Beast is Emmas favourite fairy tale - and shes signed up to star in a version of the film by director Guillermo Del Toro.
  10. Whilst at university, Emma was a big fan of fitness dance craze Zumba - she says she did it three times a week and was always on the front row.

Outside of Work

  1. Emma loves playing table tennis, and says she inherits a competitive streak from her parents!
  2. Emma is a skilled painter.
  3. She also enjoys photography - it seems that Emma is quite the arty type!
  4. Emma cares for the environment, and in line with this drives a Toyota Prius.
  5. She is a huge supporter of UNICEF and asks her fans to donate to this cause rather than send her birthday presents.
  6. Emma is very active, and has played hockey, tennis, rounders and netball amongst other sports!
  7. Emma seems to be as smart as Hermione - she got straight As at her GCSEs and her A Levels.
  8. Emma chose to attend Brown University in 2009, however she had to take a break due to promotional requirements for her new film. She continued her course at Oxford University but has now had to put of studies yet again due to work commitments.
  9. Whilst at school, Emmas team got to the semi-finals of the UK Rock Challenge competition!
  10. Emma reckons Americans are much more forward than Brits when it comes to dating!
