INTRODUCTION BY LEE HAMMOND

It is amazing to me how quickly time flies. Maybe it is just the artist in me. When you do what you absolutely love, your clock seems to move quicker than everyone elses. It seems like yesterday that I had the idea for Draw Real People. Now, here we are, celebrating its 15 year anniversary. Amazing!

As I look through the book it still makes me smile. I have had the good fortune of receiving hundreds of fan letters regarding this book. It is an awesome feeling knowing that I have been able to mentor so many. To see my work influence people all over the world, and change the lives of aspiring artists in such a profound way, is a feeling that is hard to describe. It truly makes my life worthwhile.

If you are reading this book, you have placed your trust in me to guide you. It is my pleasure to share these techniques with youI know what its like to be in your shoes wanting to become an artist.

I am self taught, so the methods in this book have come from years of trial and error. Take the projects one at a time and in the order they are presented. You will be amazed at your progress.

With continued practice and determination you will develop the techniques required to succeed as an artist. Dont be afraid to add your own personal flarewe are all different, and by nature you will create a unique stye. Most of all, just have fun. After all, that is why we draw.

Thanks for being a fan!
