Dedication To Lesley The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupry was one of Lesley's favourite books. One of the ideas in the book concerns holding onto the memory of some one by giving them a present. When the little prince returned to his planet he left the gift of his laughter in the stars for Antoine, who was represented by springs of fresh water in the little prince's memory. This book is in a sense a present both to and from Lesley. She is represented in its pages by her creativity and inventiveness, her sense of respect for clinician and child. She knew that children need fun, humour, warmth and a sense of work being play, and so do clinicians if they are to keep going. Lesley has left her profession and clients with a gift that is tangible and indispensable. By completing this book after her death I am making it a present to her, dedicated to her memory, through which many more children and adults can benefit from her unique talent.
