About the Authors
Ann McIver McHoes is author of the award-winning textbook Understanding Operating Systems, which has been translated into five languages and adopted at colleges and universities on six continents. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Math and a Master of Science in Information Science, both from the University of Pittsburgh, and currently teaches at Duquesne University. She is a long-time professional technical writer and corporate consultant. Her science advocacy work includes volunteering as a judge for the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (since 1993) and the Pennsylvania Science Bowl. During her free time, Ann enjoys travelling, golfing, and learning about new technology.
