DEDICATION
Pat and Nicole
First, wed like to dedicate this book to our dear friends and precious family for the tremendous support you have always given us. Our schedule is so demanding, and we are gone much of the time, but you are always in our hearts. Thank you in so many ways! You are so important to us!
Secondly, we dedicate this book to two very special friends. Several years ago, while attending one of the many deer classics we go to each year, we met and became friends with a young man named Drake Taylor of Dunlap, Ill. Drake, who had been born with a rare type of dwarfism, made and sold his own jewelry. He was an extraordinary young man. We also became friends with a beautiful young girl named Emily Philip of Green Bay, Wis., at a different show. At 6 years of age in 2002, Emily had been diagnosed with a severe heart and lung condition.
Tragically, Emily passed away on Dec. 20, 2012 and Drake passed away in early 2013. Over the last few years, one of the true highlights of our entire year was looking forward to seeing these special youngsters in Illinois and Wisconsin at the shows. They touched our hearts in many ways and inspired us beyond belief. Drake and Emily loved to hunt more than anything in the world, and each had the opportunity to go on a number of memorable hunts during their all-too-short lives.
This book is respectfully dedicated to their memory. Their time on this earth was far too short but everyone who knew them was impacted in some special way. To Drake and Emily, we will never forget you!

INTRODUCTION
By Duncan Dobie
As soon as I found out I was going to have the opportunity to work on a book with Pat and Nicole, I was excited to say the least. When it comes to successfully hunting mature whitetails with a bow, this enterprising couple has few peers. Pat and Nicole are phenomenal bow-hunters. More importantly, they are extraordinary human beings.
I first met Pat back in the summer of 2004 and we became immediate friends. I had just become editor of North American Whitetail magazine. Pat had been hired some months earlier to co-host and produce the brand-new North American WhitetailTelevision series on Outdoor Channel. It was an exciting time. I had known of Pat through several groundbreaking videos he had produced for Hunters Specialties with the Prime Time Bucks series. When I finally met him in person, I was deeply impressed.
Not only do they make sure their own children spend plenty of time outdoors, but Pat and Nicole go out of their way to share their love for the outdoors with young audiences whenever possible. Todays kids are spending more and more time playing video games, and we encourage and try to nurture a love for nature whenever we can, Pat says.
Pats intense passion for deer hunting started at an early age, and has catapulted him into an unbelievable career and lifestyle filled with great family, friends and never-ending adventure.
Over the next year while he was filming for North American Whitetail Television, I never ceased to be amazed at his incredible talent. Not only was he a gifted hunter, he was also an amazing photographer, videographer and TV producer. He sent me outstanding photos and helped me get stories for the magazine. He was a huge asset to both the TV show and the magazine and I was in awe of his ability. I still am today. I met Nicole for the first time in early 2005 and was equally impressed with her charm, beauty and knowledge of whitetail hunting. Who in the world would have thought that they would get together and become soul mates a few years later!
Pat and Nicole are two of my favorite people in the hunting industry. They are tremendous role models for hunters of all ages, and they are so good at what they do they make it look easy. But nothing in life is easy, and they have certainly paid their dues by overcoming more than their share of tough challenges over the years.
Pat and Nicole talk a lot about making memories. Their motto is make life an adventure and follow your dreams, and theyve inspired countless people through their TV show and personal appearances at hunting shows to do just that. Their lives together have been filled with excitement, and they have traveled the world sharing many heart-stopping adventures making many special memories together. They have accomplished a great deal in a very short period of time.
Whenever Pat and Nicole go somewhere to hunt mature whitetails, they set the bar so high that the difficulty factor is double or triple what most whitetail hunters experience during the course of a normal hunt. First, they set their sights on shooting a truly big, mature buck. More often than not, theyll target a specific buck that theyve learned about through trail camera photos or personal sightings. Its never easy to target a certain buck and shoot that buck in a four- or five-day period. But when Pat or Nicole zero in on a certain deer, watch out! Its almost uncanny how they can go to a place theyve never been before and end up shooting a couple of real monsters with their archery equipment or muzzleloaders.
Pat and Nicole believe that every day should be an adventure and that every individual should try to follow his or her dreams. Their lifestyle inspires countless people through television and numerous personal appearances throughout the year.
