Preface
The story so far:
Norman was a successful businessman who at the age of thirty fell in love with Nancy. Nancy became pregnant. Norman and Nancy got married. They had two children. Norman loved his family but he was not happy. Norman fell apart when he was thirty-six years old. He went into Jungian analysis on his knees. After a year he left his family. After two years he left his analyst.
The underlying psychology of a breakdown and Norman's first year in analysis are detailed in The Survival Papers: Anatomy of a Midlife Crisis.Norman's second year in analysis, during which he found his feet and lived to writhe again, was in that book passed over rather quickly.
Readers have clamored to have this interval fleshed out.
This book is a response to that clamor.
