Foreword
Puncher Piebaloney wrapped in a light crust of a liecowboy style.
My first attempt to write the introduction for this book was, without a doubt, a total and utter failure. After writing a rough draft, I read it to the boys for their inputmajor mistake. Reading in my best radio voice, the affair proceeded in this manner:
"The men I speak of in this bookDale Tunnell, Malcolm Burdett, Ken Kleiber, Pete Steele, and Lee Crumpare all real people, western men. Over the years we have forged a firm and lasting bond. I trust if I fell prey to Road Agents, these men would be at my side, men who would take a bullet for a friend." (I know, I know. I was waxing like I thought I was Mark Twain, and for my trouble I received the following punishment.)
