He was somewhat shy, he caught my eye,so I asked him to dance.
He took my hand, became my man, and putme in a trance.
Every day was Christmas, every night wasNew Years Eve, I was the princess on hisarm.
He possessed a most dangerous allure, deadly was his charm.
He put me on a pedestal, I was placed on the top shelf.
He absorbed me into his world, thats when I met Satan himself.
They were old friends, they went way back, they knew each other well.
He offered me a ride, I never felt so alive, so I rode with him to Hell
The late-night Hollywood air possess an allure like no other. Standing on the corner of Hollywood and Vine one could take a deep breath inhaling the spirit that haunt these very streets. Theambience is electric to put it lightly. Hollywood is where dreams begin and stories end. Having playedthe game around the world only to be led right where I started. Its here I belong. Theres no legal casino gambling here. No amusement parks. But lives are changed here every night.
Sunset boulevard, what an appropriate name for a street that comes to life at night. Vine Street, Fountain Ave, Sunset Blvd, Hollywood Blvd, LaBrea Ave, La Cienega Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, Highland Ave.
This is my jungle, the land off which I feed. Hollywood has fed many, but Hollywood also has abig appetite. How much can you eat before you get eaten? In the daytime, Hollywood looks like an amusement park for grownups. The Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripleys Believe it or Not, tour busses, The Chinese Mann Theatre, The Hollywood walk of Fame etc. For all appeared purposesHollywood has a decent amount of familyattractions. One might even catch a concert at theHollywood Bowl or work out at Freddie Roachs Wildcard Boxing Gym.
But when the sunsets, these seemingly quiet streets come alive. Like the San Francisco 1849 Gold Rush, people from all over come to
Hollywood to strike it rich or make it big. The riskis as high as the stakes. Never at a loss for lostsouls. A city fueled by dreams and fantasies fulfilled hourly around the clock.
Hollywood, the land where time stops and resets at your disposal. Youll find the people on an entirely different frequency. The ones who arelabeled off beat. The ones who march to the beat of their own drum will find that song in rotation on the jukebox in Hollywood. The city where heavenand hell meet. It borders pain and pleasure runningalongside ecstasy. This is where Ive chosen to timelessly exist. You name the vice, Ill name theprice.
On occasion its been referred to as Hollyweird by those on the outer rim in mockery. But to its inhabitants, its revered for its ominousambiance. A seemingly self-generated ever-present omnipotence flows from the lights, through the streets, through you, then back again. You becomeone with energy. In this city even the beat cops arewriting and developing screenplays. A place wherea conceptual idea is considered a tangible
commodity. A place where you can be anythingyou want to be if you can get just one person to believe you.
When youre a career criminal, your record reads more like a resume. It serves as an invitation to few and a warning to most. The bigger your name, increases the likelihood of others looking tomake a name from yours. Legends tend to take on alife of their own. True stories get passed from mouths to ears and so on and so forth. With each passing tale, I grew.
The problem with beingThe fastest gun in the West comes from those who worship you to thepoint that they created the title for you. Then theybegin to covet the position for themselves. They want the title without the pain (bullet holes and penitentiary time) that comes with it.
As the wheels of my Cadillac rotatecounterclockwise, Im compelled to recollect and re-evaluate my status from a distance to provide mewith a panoramic view so I can properly assess the situation. Growing to legendary status from what comes naturally made my accomplishments look effortless. Being yourself is easy once you know who you are.
When one hears the wordPimp, images of a sadistic Gorilla Pimp enters the minds of most. One having a cold cruel hand forcing young women to preform unspeakable sex acts for money. Women who by unfortunate circumstances find themselves unwilling pawns in the sex trade. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Forcing someone to do something theythemselves wouldnt normally do, then taking the money from them and keeping it makes you a bullyand an extortionist, not a pimp. Without guidelines and strict rules and regulations anyone can claim to be anything and attach what they do to a preexisting definition thus altering the definition itself. This does an injustice to those who are in
accordance with the rules and regulations. Thosewho over the years have sacrificed to shape, defineand secure the very definitions themselves.
Those in violation will have to fit those oversized shoes they couldnt wait to wear.Theyve lied about the size of their feet in order towear them. Wearing them is easy, walking and running in then will prove most difficult. Truth always comes to the surface eventually.
You can easily convince someone that youre someone else but never yourself. Emptyunsubstantiated claims of being the fastest gun in the west will certainly put you in a position whereyoull have to eventually draw. It takes time, energy, sacrifice and effort to become such ahousehold name that your reputation precedes you. Time, energy, effort and sacrifice= dedication.
Ive chosen my methods of operation as wellas my activities. But I never chose my path. It choseme before I was old enough to make a consciouschoice. I didnt begin this way. It was a gradual ascend or descend (depending on how you look at it) into what we callThe Life. Ironic, somethingreferred to as The Life that brings so much death.
Its a world where your first mistake may beyour last. Where the lines of loyalty are drawn in the sand one minute and blown blurry like sand the next minute. Often referred to as The Game.
So appropriate, since its filled with players. In The Game youre better equipped when you have an exit strategy before you conceiveof entering. Some players have their team preassembled upon entering. Those players areunaware of the streets Free agent clause. Anyplayer may opt out of any agreement at any giventime for any reason.
