Like a Father

A Beau to Beau Romance short story

Sensual and Sexual, with Passion, Pleasure, and Longing

Intro:

Todds sister had married a loser, and was now divorced from a loser. She and her stepson, always welcome in Todds enormous house, were now living with him. Todd was like a father to Kyle, the young man he had nicknamed Scout, and Kyle loved the man he had come to know as Uncle Todd. Having no idea that this young man, who would be in college soon, had feelings for his soon-to-be male roommate, Todd is surprised when Kyle shares with him his concerns about his own sexuality. Kyle knows that Todd his gay. Todd has never kept that a secret from anyone. When Kyle comes to Todd one afternoon while he is sunbathing in the nude by his pool, the only thing he can do is what he has always done, and be like a father to this young man. Neither Kyle nor Todd is certain, however, of the unspoken boundaries of their close relationship.

Book Content:

Todds sister, Deanna, had recently gotten divorced and didn't have anywhere to go. Todd was single, much to his dismay, and had a big house, so he offered to take his sister and her son in for as long as they needed. Deannas son, Kyle, had always been a favorite of Todds. Todd was not his biological uncle. Kyle was Deannas husbands son from a previous marriage that had ended badly. To Kyle, Todd was more like a father than an unrelated uncle. Kyles father was away a lot on business, supposedly, and Kyle had practically grown up at Todds house. Todd had nicknamed him Scout, and had been like a father to the little guy since his own father hadnt taken to being a father very well.

Now that Deanna and her husband were divorced, Todd was even more like a father to the young man who was now grown. Kyle was a good student and had just been accepted to his dream school, which Todd was very proud of him for doing. Youll do well, Scout, no matter what you choose to do in life, he had told the young man. Kyle just grinned. He idolized his Uncle Todd and wanted him to be proud of him.

Kyle was good at everything he did. He was good in school, good at sports, and yet he was very humble. Deanna had raised him well, practically all by herself. Kyle, or Scout, had been on the swim team in high school and his abilities had earned him a scholarship which was paying for much of his college. He had a lean build from the sport, and had filled out nicely over the last couple of years. He looked like a man now. He carried himself with a great deal of confidence. Kyle was built like his dad, about the only good thing that had come of Todds sisters marriage, according to Todd, and because of the bulge in his pants, Todd could tell that Kyle also carried a rather large tool, just like his dad.

Todd had had a very brief fling one night with Kyles father, when the two of them had gotten drunk together. He had bet Todd that he couldnt get off on a man giving him a blowjob, and Todd had proven him wrong, very wrong. The man had enjoyed it, too much for his own taste, and had spent much of his married life sleeping with other women just to prove that he was straight. Deanna had never known about Todds one little tryst with her husband, and never would, if Todd had anything to say about it. He knew that her ex wouldnt say anything. He had been far too embarrassed to admit that he had had the best orgasm of his life the night that Todd had sucked him off.

Fortunately, Kyle did not have the arrogance of his father, just the body. Todd only hoped that Kyle didnt know about his fathers many indiscretions during his marriage to his sister. The man had had his share of women. That was for sure. Eventually, Deanna had had enough and asked for a divorce.

Make yourselves at home, Todd had said, showing them to their rooms. Youve got the entire upper floor to yourselves. Todd looked at his sisters somewhat sad eyes, and hoped that the kid would be all right, anyway.

Todd could tell right away that having his sister and her son living with him could be a problem. Todd had found himself terribly attracted to the grown man he had nicknamed Scout. Kyle was so much like his dad, and Todd would have loved to take Kyles dad to bed with him a second time. Todd was openly gay, which Deannas husband hated. Todd had caught the man looking at him in the shower a couple of times before and after their one time together, though, and wondered if the mans own unspoken desire was what had made him so uncomfortable.

Well, kid, I sunbathe naked around my pool, Todd told his sister right in front of his step-nephew. I just want to get things out in the open from the start here, he had said. I hope that wont be a problem, he added. She shook her head. Deanna had been through too much to let a little thing like that bother her.

Deanna and Kyle settled into Todds house quickly. They had spent quite a few nights with Todd when Deannas husband was supposedly out of town on business when he was really with another woman. The first night they moved in with Todd, he took them both out to dinner.

Your house is beautiful, Todd, Kyle had said. Thanks, Kyle. I didnt expect you to notice something like that, but I like your taste, Todd had teased. Todd made a pretty good living, and being single, he had no one to spend his money on, except of course is nephew, so the house he lived in was rather large and very tastefully decorated. One of his former lovers was a decorator, so the house was really quite a showplace by even the toughest standards. A friend of mine decorated it, he said, not wanting to say the word lover in front of Kyle, although Kyle knew about his Uncle Todd, of his homosexuality.

Being eighteen and very self confident, Kyle was not shy about asking questions or speaking his mind. Todd, can I ask you some things? he said one day while his mom was still at work. Sure, Scout, sit down, take a load off.

Well, I know youre gay, right? Thats right, Scout. Ive never kept that a secret from anyone. Well, theres a guy at school who is going to be my roommate in college, but I kind of have, you know, those kinds of feelings about him sometimes. Todd was taken by surprise by the young mans shyness. Well, what are you going to do about that, Kyle? Todd had always encouraged Kyle to face his problems head on and to make his own decisions in life. Todd tried to remain objective when it came to Kyle, but he also wanted to protect him and solve his problems for him. Todd was definitely elated that he had come to him with this, and that they shared this not so usual common bond. As they talked, Kyle confessed to Todd that he was very curious about how it would feel to suck another guy's dick.

Well, how does this other guy feel about that, or about you? Does he want to try that with you? Oh, I dont know. We dont talk about stuff like that. Hes on the swim team with me, and we have seen each other, in the locker room, you know. Yes, I know, Todd admitted.

What if he turns me down, or calls me a fag or something? Well, Kyle, there is always that chance, but if you are good friends, you should at least give him a chance. But I could lose him as a friend, Kyle admitted. Yes, you could, or this could be the beginning of the most wonderful relationship you could ever imagine.

Kyle sat in silence for awhile, looking very serious, and studying his Uncle Todd. Could you? he asked. Could I what, talk to him for you? No, thats not what I meant, Kyle admitted. Todd looked at the young man. He still didnt know what he was talking about. Im sorry, Scout, I dont think Im following. Could I what?
