About the Author

Tom Dongo is a long-time resident of Sedona During this time he has camped on - photo 2

Tom Dongo is a long-time resident of Sedona. During this time, he has camped on and hiked over thousands of miles of the Sedona/Flagstaff/Prescott mountains, mesas, deserts, and canyons. He is a recognized world authority on UFOs and paranormal occurrences. He is also a writer of mainstream magazine articles and has written seven books on UFOs and the paranormal. His work and personal interviews have appeared many times on national and international television.

About the Book

I would venture a guess that if someone were to go to a place such as Syracuse, Little Rock, San Antonio, Key West, Pocatello, Des Moines, or Spokane and dig around for two years as I did here, that person would come up with as much material as I have about Sedona.

The following incidents and encounters are a broad representation of UFO/ET encounters by area residents and visitors. My opinion is that many of these incidents resulted in the abduction of the individuals involved. I have talked at length with most of these people. Its difficult to put into words the sincerity and concern that was reflected in their voices and faces about what they had experienced. When a mature man or woman breaks down emotionally over a UFO experience they are reliving in an interview, this is to me strong evidence that the person is not lying or simply making up a story. I feel fortunate to have shared in their experiences, and I share in turn these experiences here with you.

CHAPTER 1
UFOs: Some Theories and Questions

As I began writing this book, I had feelings of reluctance and apprehension about even beginning a book on UFOs, because events and new information are coming so rapidly that I feared the book might be obsolete even before it got into print. This may yet prove to be the case. Time will tell.

Because of lengthy observations I have made concerning UFOs, I am thoroughly convinced that one of the two following events will take place within the next few years. Either of these events will completely change how we think and live on this planet.

The first is that interdimensional, spiritual, or extraterrestrial (or all three) beings will openly announce their presence on this planet. The second is that the U.S. government will voluntarily or involuntarily release the almost overwhelming information it has on UFOs and extraterrestrials, and the dealings it has had with them since the late 1940s.

After writing Mysteries of Sedona, which was reprinted five times the first year, I wanted to do another book. But on what subject? After a lot of deliberation, I settled on a book about UFOs, in part because my interest in the subject has become almost obsessive, and in part because UFO books have attained increased marketability. I decided to focus the theme of the book on UFO/ET/paranormal activity in the general area where I live Sedona, Arizona. Sedona, I feel, is merely one slice of a big pie. Whatever is going on here is going on everywhere else, albeit by varying degrees.

When I began my research on the book in earnest (adding to the information I already had), I was not prepared for the magnitude and importance of the information I would subsequently uncover. As I dug deeper and deeper, I was not (and still am not) able to fully assimilate and comprehend the variety and enormity of alien-being and spaceship activity in this area and worldwide.

After interviewing numerous individuals men, women, boys and girls from every level of society and because of what I was discovering, I decided to expand the scope of the book to encompass the larger issues I had uncovered. In my probings I gradually gained the trust of many people. I would not have uncovered nearly enough to fill a book had not a network early established itself. Over one hundred incidents and individuals were referred to me through personal contacts I had made through this network.

In the beginning stages of this book I placed an ad in Creative Happenings, a local publication with a wide circulation in metaphysical circles. I was seeking anyone who had had ET or UFO experiences of any type, and I guaranteed complete anonymity to respondents. To my surprise, after a month I had not received even one reply. I learned that advertising was not the way to generate information and connections. Developing the trust and confidence of interviewees, I have found, plays a key role in an undertaking such as mine.
