You can mix and match as much as you want to create impressive granny square blankets, or alternatively try some of the project ideas scattered throughout this book. Before you start, please read the following advice and information. This book contains patterns for 100 granny squares and 10 projects. All of the square patterns are accompanied by coloured charts that show each individual layer of crochet to be made. All you need for each granny square is some crochet hooks and yarn (see ). Some squares require a little stuffing, and you will also need a yarn needle for weaving in ends and adding embroidery details. For the projects you may need additional supplies, but these will be listed with the instructions. Metric sizes have been provided for crochet hooks throughout. Please refer to the following conversion chart if your hooks are labelled with imperial or US sizes instead:
