Joseph Anthony Califano Jr. (b. 1931) General Counsel for the U.S. Army during the Kennedy administration, aide on the Pentagons Cuban Coordinating Committee.


Allen Welsh Dulles (18931969) longest-serving CIA Director (19531961). Longtime Kennedy family friend who served on the Warren Commission.

General Alexander Haig Jr. (b. 1924) During the Kennedy years, Haig served in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (DCSOPS) at the Pentagon (19621964) and the Cuban Coordinating Committee. He later served as Military Assistant to the Presidential Assistant for National Security Affairs, Henry Kissinger. In 1970, President Richard Nixon promoted Haig to Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. He served as White House Chief of Staff under Presidents Nixon and Gerald Ford. From 1974 to 1979, Haig served as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe.


Samuel Halpern (19232005) After serving in the OSS, became a career CIA officer (19481974); became Deputy Chief for Operations and Executive Officer at the CIAs Tokyo Station, then Des FitzGeralds Executive Assistant on the Cuba Desk. In the early 1970s he was Deputy Chief of the CIAs Division of Domestic Collections. He retired in 1974 after receiving the Intelligence Medal of Merit.

James Hosty (b. 1927) FBI Special Agent in Dallas who monitored Oswald in 1963.

Theodore Ted Shackley (19272002) CIA Station Chief in Miami (JM/WAVE) during Kennedy administration. He later oversaw Operation Phoenix in Vietnam, before being named to head all CIA worldwide covert ops in 1976.


Martin Underwood (19152003) Public relations man for Mayor Richard J. Daley in Chicago in the fifties; brought to Washington by Joseph Kennedy to assist in the 1960 presidential election. Later hired full-time by President Johnson as his top advance man for foreign trips.

Luis Alberu Souto (b. 1915) Spanish-born Cuban artist working in the Cultural Attach Office of the Cuban embassy in Mexico City in the 1960s. The entire time, he was a paid informant (LI-RING-3) for Win Scott.


Sergio Vicente Arcacha Smith (19232000) Cuban Ambassador to India under Batistas predecessor, Cuban president Carlos Pro Socorras. He fled Cuba after Castros victory and became the New Orleans delegate of the Cuban Revolutionary Council.


Fulgencio Batista y Zaldivar (19011973) Cuban President (19401944) and Military Leader (19541959).


Luisa Rodrguez Carrelero Caldern (b. 1940) Cuban DGI agent working in the Commercial Office of the Cuban embassy in Mexico City in 1963.
