AS I CONGRATULATE people, I want to thank my dear wife, Dede, who has, for sixty-five years, always been a hope and an inspiration.

My son Gordon has played a key role in insisting that I explain in detail how my personal devotional life works so that readers may enter into the experience.

My previous books have been written in longhand on yellow legal pads and then transcribed. On this one, I am following the example of Winston Churchill, who dictated all of his manuscripts, and I must commend my faithful assistant, G. G. Conklin, for taking down my words on her laptop and organizing the appropriate chapters.

I also want to salute my dear friend Edie Wasserberg, who has brought together all of the elements to make this book available and appealing to the readers.

I also commend my friend Joe Dillabough for his work on the physical appearance of the book, and I especially commend my attorney, Lou Isakoff, for going through the appropriate negotiations to be sure that the publisher and author were in harmony.

MY NAME IS Pat Robertson. I am now ninety years old. During my lifetime I have been privileged to found a major international broadcasting company called The Christian Broadcasting Network Inc., otherwise known as CBN, which has been responsible for the salvation of hundreds of millions of people across the globe.

Our Lord led me to start a humanitarian organization called Operation Blessing, which has brought food, clothing, shelter, and medical assistance to at least three hundred million people around the world.

Our Lord also led me to start a graduate and undergraduate university that was first called CBN University and is now called Regent University. This splendid school now has over eleven thousand students studying multiple disciplines ranging from nursing to computer analytics to cybersecurity, as well as other important courses that should be available in a major liberal arts institution.

In my lifetime Ive seen prayer and Bible reading taken from the schools and seen cherished evidences of our Christian faith removed from the public square. As I prayed about what to do, the Lord led me to start the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which has a distinguished record of trying and winning cases before the US Supreme Court and US District Courts and Circuit Courts. This organization is one of the leading appellate advocacy groups in America.

During my lifetime our Lord led me to start the Family Channel, which grew to an amazing eighty million paying subscribers.

Because of my involvement in the political life of this country, I ran for the Republican nomination for president of the United States in the 1988 election. Although I did not win that election, I placed third, and from that came a grassroots movement called the Christian Coalition, which played a significant role in national and state elections throughout the 1990s and especially in the 2000 presidential election.

Over the years, Ive had wonderful cohosts on The 700 Club, such as Ben Kinchlow and Sheila Walsh. The 700 Club welcomed the lovely former Miss America Terry Meeuwsen in 1993. Terry has been such an able prayer partner and cohost over these many years and a great blessing to the CBN ministry.
