She Cant Stop--Miley Cyrus: The Biography: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "She Cant Stop--Miley Cyrus: The Biography" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Miley Cyrus first shot to fame at a young age playing Hannah Montana, but she has long-since said goodbye to her good girl image, and is now best known for pushing the boundaries both on and off stage. She Cant Stop tells of Mileys extraordinary upbringing; what it was like growing up with Billy Ray Cyrus as her dad and how she coped with being a multi-millionaire by the time she was fifteen. It tells of her ups and downs, her relationship troubles and her difficult search for friends who wouldnt betray her.

From childhood all Miley wanted to do was perform, whether that be singing or acting. She has had to fight to get where she is today and has faced many battles over the years: she was bullied relentlessly at school, she lost the person she was closest to in the world and she has had to deal with a stalker who thinks he is married to her. Fortunately, Miley shares a tight bond with her siblings, who share her love of music, and she enjoys spending family time with them and her parents whenever she can.

In this scintillating biography, written by one of Mileys biggest Smilers, you will find out why she will never regret her controversial MTV VMA performance with Robin Thicke and how she felt as she performed her Bangerz tour around the world.

CONTENTS

O n 23 November 1992 Tish Finley gave birth to a little girl. She was overjoyed that the baby had arrived safely as she was quite a few weeks early. Her partner, Billy Ray Cyrus, the babys dad, wasnt by her side because he was a famous country singer and was away touring the USA and Europe. His number-one single Achy Breaky Heart had been released just a few months earlier. It had topped the charts in America, Canada and Australia, earning Billy Ray worldwide fame. He had planned some time off around Tishs due date in December but because of complications the doctors had had to bring the birth forward.

Billy Ray found out by fax that Tish had given birth and rushed as fast as he could to the hospital. Both Tish and the baby needed extra care from the hospitals medical team and they had to wait eight days before they could go home.

They chose to give the baby the name Destiny Hope because they felt she was destined for great things. She was a little sister for Brandi and Trace, who were Tishs children from a previous relationship. Billy Ray explained on Piers Morgan Tonight, You know, [Mileys] name was originally Destiny Hope. I had given her the name before she was born because I had a vision. I felt it was her destiny to bring hope to the world.

When I see her selling out arenas around the world or on her TV show, making people laugh, bringing families into the living room together, we always, you know, try to put positive messages in each episode if we could. And you know, I do think that she this is her purpose her path.

Miley was born into a complicated mess. Billy Ray had met Tish while he was still married to his wife Cindy, although they had an amicable divorce soon afterwards. Billy Ray and Tish met in July 1991 and started out as friends. Brandi was only four and Trace was just two at the time. As their relationship developed they fell deeply in love and were so happy when Tish fell pregnant.

However, just a few months before Billy Ray met Tish he had had a brief relationship with a Kristen Luckey, a waitress hed met at one of his gigs, and in April 1993 she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. She named him Christopher Cody. The fact that both Tish and Kristen had been pregnant at the same time had the potential to cause great harm to Billy Rays singing career so it was kept hush-hush for as long as possible.

Billy Ray and Tish got married on 28 December 1993, when Miley was one and Tish was pregnant with their son Braison. Billy Ray wanted to commit completely to Tish and knew that marriage was something she really wanted.

Billy Ray didnt talk about his secret son in interviews but the week after Miley turned two he was on a Tennessee show called Music City Tonight. One of the shows hosts knew that Billy Ray had got Tish and the other woman pregnant at the same time so asked him about it. He didnt know what to say but then Miley toddled onto the set pushing a pram and saved the day. All the focus centred on her and Billy Ray could rest easy.

Destiny was a very happy baby and was always smiling and cooing. Because of this Billy Rae and Tish decided to give her the nickname Smiley and they soon discovered they were calling her Smiley more than Destiny. Shortly before she started at school they decided that they couldnt call her Smiley anymore because other children in her class might tease her for it so they shortened it to Miley. From that day onwards Destiny/Smiley has been known as Miley. She made it legally her name in January 2008 when she was fifteen, choosing to add the middle name Ray in memory of her granddad.

DID YOU KNOW?

The only person who still calls Miley by her birth name is her grandma.

Miley was so excited when Braison was born on 9 May 1994. Now she had a little brother to play with. The Cyrus family was completed six years later when Tish gave birth to another little girl on 8 January 2000. They named her Noah.

The Cyrus children are all very close, thanks in part to growing up on an isolated Tennessee farm. They couldnt nip to their friends houses to play so instead had to play with each other, playing games and making dens. They also played with their pets and animals on the farm, as Miley explained to Office Max during a Q&A session with fans in December 2007: I have lots of horses, kitty cats, dogs, chickens and fish. My dogs are on tour with me. We love animals. My dad had a pet squirrel for a while that kept coming around. He loves animals, too [laughs]. He makes eggs and bacon every morning for my dogs.

Whenever Billy Ray came home from touring and gigging he made sure to make a big fuss of Miley and her siblings and, in many ways, he was more of a friend to them than a father. He wasnt very strict and never smacked his children. Miley knew that her dad was different to her friends fathers but as a young child she couldnt understand what being famous meant. When she was less than a year old, she would toddle onto the stage while he was performing and wave at the thousands of people in the audience. As soon as she was talking she began to sing along with Billy Ray. He was very proud of her and, when she was six, he let her be in his music videos; something that Miley really enjoyed.

DID YOU KNOW?

Now and again, when little Miley was on stage with her dad, she would search through the bras and pants thrown on stage for him and find the biggest pair. She would then tell him shed found his biggest fan!

Miley went to Heritage Elementary School in Spring Hill, Tennessee, which is where she began to develop her own performing skills. She enjoyed being in school productions, even though she wasnt given the lead roles, and in the school holidays she went to an acting camp. She also followed in the footsteps of her mum in joining a competitive cheerleading squad. The older girls in the Premier Tennessee Allstars squad looked out for her and they had great fun travelling all around America for different competitions. She is still friends with some of her teammates today.

Miley revealed to TeenMag in 2009, When we would go on trips with my cheerleading team, we would always sing and do karaoke. So Ive always been performing.

She confided in a separate interview with journalist David Hiltbrand, The training is pretty harsh but its so worth it once youre on stage and getting trophies.

At school Miley enjoyed learning different languages but she hated Maths class.

DID YOU KNOW?

Miley wasnt all sweet and innocent; she was kicked out of one private evangelical school for being rebellious. She had explained what French kissing was to the other girls and had stolen her teachers mobility scooter. This was kept a secret from the press for a long time and Miley only admitted to it when she was twenty.

By the time she was eight years old Miley had decided that she wanted to be a professional actress when she grew up. Her dad remembers the exact moment she decided, explaining to the San Francisco Chronicle, We saw the play Mamma Mia!, and halfway through it Miley nudged me and said, This is what I want to do. I want to be a great actress.

Her family encouraged her to pursue her acting ambitions because they knew it was what she wanted but Billy Ray would have been happy if shed just been a normal student instead. She ended up having to leave cheerleading behind her when she started auditioning. Miley admitted in an interview with BMI.com in December 2007 that she used to put on her own shows for her family, saying, When I was little, I would stand up on couches and say, Watch me. We had these showers that are completely glass, and I would lock people in them and make them stay in there and watch me perform. Id make them watch.

Miley has many fond memories of growing up on the farm but in school things were difficult for her and she has fewer happy memories. Other children were jealous of her because she had a famous father and had money so they enjoyed teasing Miley and making her unhappy. She had to deal with lots of bullies and would often burst into tears because of the cruel things they said to her. It must have been so hard for Miley to cope as even her so-called friends would turn on her and enjoy making her life a misery. One day the bullies thought it would be fun to lock her in the bathroom they really were horrible girls but Miley was so scared she didnt dare tell an adult. Things only improved when her dad overheard her talking about what the bullies had done to her on the phone and decided to go and speak to the school principal.
