1. Miley was actually named Destiny Hope Cyrus when she was born on November 23 rd 1992.
2. Her parents named her Destiny as they felt she was destined for great things.
3. She was an extremely happy baby, which earned her the nickname smiley... of course leading to Miley!
4. In 2008 she officially changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus - most people believe she chose Ray because of her father but in was actually in memory of her Grandfather, to whom she was very close.
5. Miley was raised catholic and attended church regularly whilst growing up. She also wore a purity ring.
6. She is five foot five inches tall.
7. Miley is close friends with Demi Lovato and Ashley Tisdale.
8. She loves to ride horses.
9. In fact, Miley absolutely loves almost all animals!
10. Miley and her family each have a heart tattoo somewhere on their hands - Mileys is a heart outline on her right pinkie finger.

Acting - Part 1

1. Miley was inspired to start acting after she had seen her father star in a TV series called Doc whilst living in Canada.
2. Her enthusiasm for the profession was cemented after she had seen a performance of Mamma Mia at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
3. The first acting role that Miley was given was actually in Doc - the very TV show that had inspired her in the first place!
4. Her next role was in Tim Burtons 2003 film Big Fish.
5. Although it is her most famous role, Miley didnt initially audition for the part of Hannah Montana - she first sent her tape in hoping to play Lilly, but producers invited her to audition for the main role.
6. Miley didnt win them over at first, although they eventually succumbed to her talents and made her the star. They even changed the name of her character from Chloe Stewart to Miley Stewart!
7. When the series premiered in 2006, the first episode achieved the highest viewing figures the Disney channel had ever recorded.
8. Miley went on to star in four seasons and ninety-eight episodes of the hit show.
9. For those who havent seen it, Miley plays an ordinary schoolgirl called Miley Stewart who has a famous pop-star alter-ego (Hannah Montana) whom she conceals from everyone except her closest friends and family.
10. The last ever episode of the show was broadcast on the 16 th of January, 2011.

Family

1. Mileys father is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus - singer of Achy Breaky Heart.
2. Mileys mum Leticia gave birth to her when she was 25 years old. She has two children - Brandi and Trace - from her previous relationship.
3. Billy has adopted both of these children and they now share his surname.
4. Her mum is more commonly known as Tish, and plays a key part in managing Miley - specifically in her musical career.
5. Miley in fact has five siblings in total - two half-brothers and a half-sister, a younger brother and a sister.
6. Miley always seemed destined for great things - amazingly her godmother is legendary country singer Dolly Parton!
7. When Miley went on tour, her bunk bed had a Hello Kitty theme. Weirdly, her sister Noahs bunk was decorated in a Hannah Montana style!
8. In more recent interviews (and in the wake of a number of controversies), Billy Ray has said that perhaps he should have tried to be less of a friend to Miley and more of a parent.
9. Brandi Cyrus, Mileys older sister has modelled for online boutique Rad + Refined and is in a band called Frank + Derol.
10. Her brother Trace was the vocalist and guitarist in the Pop punk band Metro Station alongside Hannah Montana co-star Mason Musso. The band split in 2010 although Mason is continuing a solo career under the Metro Station name.

Music

1. Mileys first public performance as a vocalist was singing a duet of Hound Dog on stage with her father.
2. It was Tish, Mileys mother, who helped lay down Mileys career path as a singer. She sought advice from Dolly Parton, who recommended Miley sign with Morey Management Group. In a business full of sharks, it was important for Miley to have signed with a management team who had good morals.
3. Miley music proved a huge success in the teen market - so much so that the Jonas Brothers - a popular band in their own right - actually supported her on her 2007 tour!
4. Tickets for the tour sold out within minutes. Despite having a face value of between $26 and $65, tickets traded hands for up to $2500!
5. Miley has sold over twelve million records worldwide
6. Miley announced live on air that she would be teaming up with Snoop Lion (who changed his name from Snoop Dogg) for an upcoming single. What a strange combination!
7. At the time of writing, Miley has released three studio albums: Meet Miley Cyrus (2007), Breakout (2008) and Cant Be Tamed (2010).
8. She is touted however to be releasing a new album in 2013 - the first not under the Disney banner - which is supposedly going to be a massive departure from her previous style and may even feature explicit lyrics!
9. Miley isnt just a vehicle for other peoples songwriting - on her second album she co-wrote eight of the twelve songs!
10. Miley has performed plenty of music for charity - highlights include the charity single Just Stand Up in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, We Are The World: 25 for Haiti and Send It On in aid of Disneys Friends for Change - an environmental group.

General

1. Miley is scared of spiders
2. She helped Emily Osment (her Hannah Montana co-star) learn to play guitar.
3. In return, Emily taught Miley how to knit!
4. In 2009, Miley announced she would be deleting her Twitter account because the blogosphere was spreading false rumours about her. She has since re-joined the network but generally only tweets about her career.
5. One of Mileys mottos in life is A trying time is no time to stop trying. - she picked this up from her dad.
6. Miley has a tattoo which says Just Breathe - supposedly a tribute to three people; a friend who died of Cystic Fibrosis and also her grandfathers, who both died of Lung Cancer.
7. In 2013, a video of Miley twerkin in a unicorn onesie became a trending topic on Twitter. She supposedly filmed it in celebration of her fianc returning to the US after weeks away.
