2. This means that her star sign is Cancer.
3. Her full name is Selena Marie Gomez.
4. She was born and grew up in Grand Prarie, Texas.
5. As a teenager, Selena attended Danny Jones Middle School in Texas.
6. In 2007, at the age of fifteen and having been cast in Wizards of Waverley Place , Selena moved with her mother from Texas to Los Angeles.
7. She is 165cm tall - thats around 5 feet 5 inches.
8. Selena has dark brown eyes.
9. She is a famous actress and singer but has also modelled and even designed clothes.

1. Selenas mother - Amanda Dawn Cornett - has Italian ancestry.

1. In 2008, Selena signed as an artist with Hollywood Records and began working on her debut album. She soon announced she had formed a band called Selena Gomez & The Scene.
2. Her bands album - Kiss & Tell - was released in August 2009, and debuted as a top ten US billboard hit.
3. Her key single release from the album - Naturally - quickly went on to become a platinum-selling track.
4. A Year Without Rain , the bands second album was released to critical acclaim in September 2010.
5. It topped the achievement of their first release, reached the top 5!
6. June 2011 saw the third album release, When the Sun Goes Down . This was the most successful of the releases, achieving gold record status.
7. The key track - Love You Like A Love Song was so successful that is was classified four times Platinum - a special achievement for any singer!
8. At the start of 2012, Selena announced to disappointed fans that she and the band would be going their separate ways and she would spend the year concentrating on her acting career.
9. In October of the same year however, Selena confirm she was working on new material and hoped to soon be recording a new album - but this time as a solo artist.
10. The lead single Come & Get It was released in April 2013 and the album Stars Dance was released in July. However, fans of Selenas music will again be disappointed as she decided to take a further hiatus to focus once again on acting.
