- Justin was born on the 31 st of January, 1981.
- This makes him an Aquarius.
- His full name is Justin Randall Timberlake.
- He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Shelby Forest.
- Justin attended E.E Jeter Elementary School in Tennessee before leaving to be home-schooled.
- One of his idols is Audrey Hepburn.
- Justin has a tattoo on his back bearing his mothers initials.
- He is an avid fan of IndyCar racing.
- One of his greatest fears is dying unloved.
- Justin has said his backup career would be a professional golfer - although he does also dream of playing in the NBA!
General - Part 1
- As a child, Justin sang in a church choir and performed in a number of local talent contests.
- At the age of ten, he even sang at the Grand Ole Opry - a weekly country music concert in Nashville.
- His half-sister Laura Katherine sadly died shortly after birth in May 1997. She is mentioned in the acknowledgements as My Angel in Heaven in the self-titled N Sync album.
- Justin was the first victim of Ashton Kutchers Punkd TV show.
- Justin set up a clothing line with best friend Juan Trace Ayala - William Rast.
- The name derived from Justins grandfather William Bomar and Traces grandfather whose surname was Rast.
- IndyCar racer Dan Wheldon (who died in October 2011) was sponsored by Justins clothing label William Rast.
- In 2009, Justin and Diab Importers launched a premium tequila called 901 Silver.
- His parents divorced when he was three years old. Both have since remarried
- In 2011, Justin and Specific Media Group jointly purchased the social networking site MySpace for an approximate sum of $35 million!
N Sync
- Justin met future band mate JC Chasez during their time on The Mickey Mouse Club . In 1995, Justin recruited him to be in an all-male band that was to become N Sync. He was just fourteen years old when the band was formed!
- The bands bass singer was to be Jason Galasso, but after weeks of rehearsals he dropped out saying that being a teen idol was never a goal of his. The band then auditioned several hopefuls but to no success. Justin then called on his voice coach, who recommended Lance Bass.
- The boys performed in front of record company executives from BMG and despite concerns they had over the bands name and Lances dancing abilities, they signed a deal.
- The bands lead single I Want You Back was first released in Germany in 1996 and made it into the top ten. The album was later released in 1997 and peaked at number one during its second week of release. The boys quickly became an overnight success throughout Europe.
- I Want You Back was released in the US in January 1998 followed by the album release in March. The sales were poor and it sat at number 85 in the album charts, until...
- The Disney Channel aired a special concert in July (originally offered to the Backstreet Boys but Brian Littrell needed heart surgery). Three weeks after the show the album had shot up to number nine in the charts!
- With single releases and regular tours, the boys profile continued to grow and VH1 even considered Tearing up my Heart as one of the 100 greatest songs of the 90s.
- In January 2000, they released Bye Bye Bye off their new album No Strings Attached which spent five weeks in the Hot 100 Airplay chart - this is often considered their signature track.
- The second single to be released from the album was Its Gonna Be Me and it was the bands first US number 1.
- The bands last album release was Celebrity which produced three singles: Pop , Gone and Girlfriend . Justin and Chasez had much more creative involvement with this album and wrote and produced many of the tracks. It showed Timberlakes maturity not just as an artist but as a songwriter too.
Relationships
- Justin first met future girlfriend Britney Spears whilst performing on The New Mickey Mouse Club at just eleven years old.
- In 1999, the two began a highly publicised relationship and often made headlines for their matching outfits.
- The teenage sweethearts were together for three years before parting ways in 2002.
- Rumours of infidelity began surfacing around the time of the break-up and although nothing was ever confirmed it is thought Justins hit Cry Me a River (featuring a Britney look-a-like) was a nod towards her cheating!
- A year after the break-up with Britney, rumours were spread that Justin was dating model-turned-actress Cameron Diaz after the two met at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
- Despite being nine years his senior (and with much speculation the relationship wouldnt work) the two dated for almost four years before they announced their mutual break-up.
- Shortly after his split with Diaz, the media reported that Justin was dating actress Jessica Biel. This was not confirmed until 2008 when Jessica was interviewed for the UK edition of GQ and said Justin Timberlake is the one part of my life that I own.
- After four years of dating, Justin and Jessica split in 2011 for unknown reasons. Reflecting on their relationship Justin said that In my 30 years she is the most special person.
- A few months later however, the couple were back together and Justin popped the question just before Christmas at his home in Big Sky, Montana.
- In October 2012, the couple tied the knot during a week-long celebration in Puglia, Italy. Justin wrote and sang a romantic ballad as his bride walked down the aisle. Jessica wore a pink Giambattista Valli gown and Justin a Tom Ford tuxedo.
Solo Career - Part 1
- In 2002 Justin released his debut album Justified , with Like I Love You as the lead single.
- By May 2003, the album had gone double platinum!
- The second single to be released from Justified was Cry Me a River which debuted at number 2 in the UK singles chart.
- The Justified tour kicked off with performances in the UK in May 2003 - and ended in Brisbane over a year later in June 2004!
- From the 4 th of June to the 2 nd of September 2003, Justin toured North America with Christina Aguilera in the Justified and Stripped tour. Stripped was Christinas fourth studio album.
